3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Quart bottle. Pours a clear dark orange-amber with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, spices, malt, hops, and a hint of pumpkin. The spices come through more in the taste, allspice and cloves, some vanilla sweetness, with malt and a bit a squashy pumpkin. Lingering watery vanilla and spices. Not bad, but needs more of everything.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
32oz bottle. Sorta like a mini growler, I guess. Nothing really much to write home about. Amber color, small off-white head, not much lacing. I smelled a bit of pumpkin and cinnamon in the nose and a little in the flavors. But for the most part, this was a pretty bland and uninteresting pumpkin ale.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had a growler of this in Rome recently. Pours a dark orange, slightly brown colour with almost no head. Aroma is light and of pumpkin and spice. Taste is malty with some sweetness and some bitterness to balance it. Medium body, smooth and a little thin on the palate, and average carbonation. Overall an average pumpkin ale.

This brew is ok. For the 3.99 I paid for a 32 ounce growler it is a decent beer with a decent price. I am seeing more and more that you get what you pay for with seasonal pumpkin beers!

Transfer from BA review on 10-15-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours an amber-orange color with a one finger white head. The head faded relatively fast to leave only a light amount of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is sweet and is big of pumpkin and caramel. Mixed with these aromas are a strong presence of pie spices; nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice.
Taste – The taste begins of a roasted pumpkin and malt flavor. There is a lighter caramel upfront which fades as the taste moves on. More toward the middle of the taste come bready flavors as well as nutmeg and allspice. These take the flavors to the end where a cinnamon spice joins the flavors leaving a drier spiced pumpkin flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in terms of creaminess as well as carbonation. The lack of a thick body, while not great for the roasted flavors, is rather nice for creating a crisper finish to the brew.
Overall – An alright pumpkin brew. It is on the slightly drier side with an easy drinking flavor profile.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a fairly nice hazy orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sliding into the beer.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet roasty pumpkin with some light nuts and vanilla, clove, and cinnamon.
The taste was sweet and spicy with a nice touch of roasty/nutty vanilla.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me.
Overall pretty good pumpkin ale always worthy of coming back if available.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
It has a deep amber color with very good clarity. Its head is thin, white in color and fades quickly leaving a few bubbles on top and no lacing. A strong spicy aroma hits you in the nose. Cinnamon and clove are the stand out spices. Wow this starts off with a big spicy kick in the mouth. Allspice, bitter cinnamon and clove overpower the malt that has some toasted and caramel notes. The pumpkin flavor is really hidden deep under the spicy character of this beer. A more apt name for this beer would be Saranac Spice Ale. The spicy character fades off a touch and hop bitterness picks up before slowly fading off into the finish. Its palate is smooth and slick with mild carbonation inside its medium body. Overall it’s a little bit too unbalanced on the spicy side.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
When is poured a red brown beer is seen, some aromas are felt but those stronger ones are the grass, citrus, earthy, banana, ginger and bread. When is tasted the pumpkin flavor aren’t felt at all, and it just give you the idea of a regular Ale. Not a fan of this beer in particular, but at least it follow the rule of the ales and to be honest is better in a normal temperature.
