DATE TASTED: October 25, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Wychwood pint... OCCASION: unwinding with some pre-Halloween pumpkin!... APPEARANCE: opaque autumn-brown body with a thin off-white head--but zero lacing?!... AROMA: distinct pumpkin waft and lightly toasted malts that take precedent over the pumpkin; spices are soft, subdued...PALATE: slightly warming, medium-bodied balanced ale that sits well in the throat; inoffensive but not impressive...TASTE: malty; solidly built with a slightly suggestive pumpkin/spice flavor--modestly autumnal...OVERALL: Situated among other pumpkin bombers and October brews, this beer finds itself slightly below the competition, if only because it offers little truly memorable qualities...not a bad thing, just not much of a thing like waiting for the Great Pumpkin instead of trick-or-treating...

Athens, Ga. - Five Points Bottle Shop - Atlanta Hwy. - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, slightly murky, bubbly white head. Aroma has some sugary sweet artificial pumpkin spice notes, a bit of cloves. Flavor has pumpkin spice accents, some brown sugar sweetness, some ripening vegetable funkiness. Mouthfeel has a pasty essence to it, Oh well, only paid $0.79 for it.

*Old rating. 2010. The beer is spicy, malty-fresh, slightly sweetish and not too pumpkin-like. Interesting, but a bit strange...

Pours from a bottle a nice amber with a thin white head with large bubbles. Nose is heavy spice, not much pumpkin, lots of allspice and cloves. Flavor is again light on pumpkin and with rather off-tasting spices. Finish is bitter, unpleasantly so. Meh.

It pours a orange amber color. The head leads lacing on the side with large bubbles as part of the head. It has the smell of pumpkin, a bit of all spice, and a bit of cinnamon. It has a pumpkin taste with a bit of cinnamon. The taste is not overly strong, but is decent. It has a bit more carbonation which tingles on the palate.
