COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Red IPA is a twist on a traditional West Coast IPA featuring a deep red color from European dark caramel malts. We brew with generous amounts of American hops including Calypso, Palisade and Chinook to give this IPA a distinctive hop aroma. Youíll notice a strong hoppy flavor with caramel malt undertones and a unique color that gives this IPA a whole new personality.

Bottle. Medium amber color with red tint. Good head. More malty then hoppy on palate. Ok taste but not a great IPA.

Thanks for the bottle, Jacob! It pours a slightly hazy reddish gold with a very large head of foam that surprised me considering it came straight from the fridge. I get light notes of citrus hops and grain. Though hoppy, itís more of a bitter flavour going on than an actual citrus thingy; the malt tastes toasted and grainy. The 63 IBUs donít seem to working any magic. A pretty dull brew. Medium bodied so mouthfeel. The first Saranac that I didnít find a joy to drink. S*it happens.

A reddish amber body with an off white head that had decent retention and nice lace. Aroma had a caramel malt base upfront and a nice blend of hops. Some citrus, floral and pine hops, but there was a mild sense of tropical fruits. Flavor was mildly sweet. The hops seemed to be restrained and seemed to have more of a grapefruit profile than anything else. Pine and floral qualities were too restrained. Light on the palate. A decent beer but lacking a little bit in some areas.

Bottle purchased in Ellicottville, NY. Pours an attractive amber red. Some lacing. Mild hoppy aroma. Bitterness on the tongue. Nice long semi-bitter finish. Nice hybrid and well done. I like this brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Itís a nice looking beer, amber with a full off-white head that retains well. The nose is more muted than I expected out of a beer claiming 63 IBUís and I pick up as much of the malt as the hops. The taste is pleasantly malty and yet hoppy in the West Coast pine nut-citrus manner but a bit light bodied for the style that was attempted. Unremarkable and underwhelming for the style, but not a bad beer.

From a bottle. Pours clear reddish copper with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like malty grains, toffee, nutty, roasted. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like malty, musky roasted nuts.

Bottle from sampler pack. Pours clear amber/copper with creamy off-white head. Aroma is biscuit and cereal malts, floral hops, light apple, light raisin, and faint caramel. Flavor is dry malts, faint berries, light hop bitterness, and faint toffee stickiness; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottiglia 33cl @ locanda.

beerbill (3272) - Laurel, New York, USA - JAN 2, 2014
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear coppery red with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of caramel, malt, and a bit of citrus. The flavor follows suit with light caramel and mild malt followed by some light citrus hops bitterness. A bit timid for an IPA, but not a bad beer.
