3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Transfer from BA review on 12-1-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance Ė The beer pours a clear amber color with a one finger of pure white head. The head relatively quickly leaving a very light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell Ė The aroma is mainly of a bready and malty smell mixed with some caramel sweetness. Along with these smells are some notes of spice, being mainly of a cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice smell.
Taste Ė The taste begins with a rather sweet and bready flavor with the sweet being mainly of a caramel taste and the bready having a slightly doughy flavor with some biscuit notes. Some spice flavors quickly come to the tongue, with a good deal of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice all present. The flavor seems to sweeten as the flavor advances, with it also gaining a doughier flavor at the expense of any biscuit. Some light fruit and citrus hop flavors then join the tongue at the end of the taste, leaving a rather sweet and malty, lightly hopped, and decently spiced flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel ĖThe body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The body and carbonation are a rather nice blend for the sweeter caramel and fruit flavors of the beer all while maintaining the spice, malt and lightly hopped flavors of the brew well.
Overall Ė A decent spiced holiday ale. Nothing super outstanding, but very drinkable. A good holiday party brew.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Aroma is christmas fart. Yes an off aroma with a whiff of Christmas spice. Taste is almost non existenet. Nice lasting head. With thin head light urine flavor overall not a good beer at all. Maybe due to being old?

Christmas in July! Well, not that good, more like Memorial Day. Poured from a bottle. Decent frothy head. Nice lacing. Not that spicy, normal lager.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a quick fading off white head over an orange amber body with a light haze.
Smell: I donít get much here, just a light spiced maltiness.
Taste / Palate: There is a mild bready malt base with some dry spice notes like clove and coriander. I am also picking up a touch of bitter orange peel. Itís palate feels light and the finish is quick and somewhat boring.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle, stamp on bottle says best before March 31, 2014. Got this bottle from a friend 2 weeks ago so I didnít get a chance to try it fresh. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear copper color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. Aroma is light but nice, the brew smells like caramel and toasted malt, and light sweet spices. I think the taste is the same as the aroma, but the flavors seems stronger in the taste as compared to the weak aroma. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a bit coating with moderate carbonation. Itís not one of the better winter warmer/spiced ales Iíve had, itís really low on the amount of spicing thatís in this brew. Not that itís a bad beer, but I think itís a Christmas ale that doesnít have much kick to it. Maybe Iíll try it again next year if I can get a single somewhere.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear copper color with a medium head. Aroma was just a tad of spice with a malty undertone. Taste was very weak and not like a Christmas cookie. Did have a slight spice taste with some balance.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Slightly hazy copper and golden coloured body with a very thin, perhaps a fraction of a centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of strong alcohol, malt, metal, apricots and bitterness - not much exciting at all. Medium-bodied; Assertive spicey flavour at first with herbs, grass, alcohol, metal, malt and some pungent bitterness. Aftertaste shows a big malt presence with some lighter spices and flavours of metal, alcohol, toffee and some light fruit. Overall, not such a good beer - heavy on the bitterness and the pungency and light on the real flavours and especially the complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 30-November-2013 for US$1.29 sampled at home in Washington on 02-May-2014.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/27/14
Aroma: The nose is herbal and earthy, some moderate spice, and a bit of pale malt
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with an off-white head and medium-heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is malty with moderate spice up-front, and an herbal finish with a little ginger
Palate: Light-medium bodied, average-to-lively carbonation, and a long, tingly finish
This isnít a bad winter spice offering, but I canít offer too much praise beyond that. Iím glad I donít have a 6-pack, one of these is plenty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, BB mar 31 2014. Nose is malty, nice and rich toffee with light spices and a faint, traditional hop funk that always reminded me of spaghetti. Pours clear orange-golden with strong carbonation and a soapy off-white head. Watery body, good chewy caramel malt with golden accents a real doughy finish, good old-fashioned hopping with light spice and warmth (Iíd certainly have guessed more than 6% abv), and itís clean for Saranac (which is to say, well, average), just a touch of wet cardboard. Low bitterness, relatively dry, some really subtle fruity notes in the bg. You know, people ... this isnít all that far removed from 3 Monts. I could drink a ton of this!
