COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An IPA with a wry twist, Saranac Rye IPA is an aggressively hopped brew, sure to take your taste buds on an adventure. We’ve stepped away from the mold of typical IPAs and selected premium rye malt and a unique mix of spicy hops. Look for a crisp, brazen finish.

Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a dark ruby copper with a nice creamy head that laces out slowly. Aroma is all ipa, hops. Taste is a nice bitter hop with a lite malt undertone. Finish is a bitter wash. This is a good ipa.

A pretty run of the mill IPA with a bit of a rye bite. It’s okay, but nothing special. Very drinkable.

This is awfully mild for an IPA, but very interesting. Not too hoppy and very easy on the palate.

Sampled on 8/26/2012. This IPA pours a light orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with some orange and a touch of spiciness. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. There is some orange and orange peel as well as a touch of rye spiciness. The hops are citrusy and slightly spicy. Decent carbonation. A decent balance between hops and malts, there is some lingering hops at the finish. Very drinkable. Decent session ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle, shared at brew club. Pours a thin white head, over a clear light (SRM 7) amber body....nose is light cereal, light toffee/caramel, light floral honey.....taste is generally bitter, with minimal grapefruit, pine, light floral tones...mouth feel medium, carbonation medium. This is a fairly typical IPA. The rye seems hidden. BJCP 7/3/11/4/6

Pours bland brownish orange. Taste is stale cheap hops and nothing else, why bother using inferior supplies.

12oz bottle, from Summer Mix 12pk. Pours clear gold color, thin white head. Aroma of peppery spice. Simple flavors. Peppery tingle. Some pine hops. Very spicy finish. Not all that great, although the Rye character is dominate! (3393)
