COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Saranac Winter Lager is a rich, malty, old school German Lager, made with traditional German malts and hops and fermented with a lager yeast. Look for a rich but smooth malty taste, balanced by an impressive Hallertau hopping-A nice reward for enduring our winter months.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 2649-0834. A dark amber pour with lively carbonation and a thin white head. The aroma has muted malts and hops along with a little touch of frutiness in the scent. The mouthfeel is pretty average. The taste gives off a more caramel malt flavor but it is rather bland. A slightly better hoppy ending. This is fairly easy to drink but has little in the way of character.

Crisp lagery aroma, with some sweet/sour cherries added. Slightly sharp with that Euro/Bavarian malt. The appearance is clear red-orange. Decent head retention; leaves a remnant on the tongue. The flavor is a nice German lager malt base, with the cherries acting as an accent to replace the hops. The palate is creamy and not bad. More of an ale feel. An average, drinkable lager. Not great, just okay.

The aroma isn’t much its got a touch of caramel malt and grassy hops to go along with yeast, dust, and metal. The appearance is amber with with a nice foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall a drinkable but not very likable beer.

Pours a clear red/brown, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, bread dough. The flavor is caramel, light hops. The finish is piney hop bittering. Medium, creamy mouthfeel. Lots of carboation sting in this beer. Decent, not great. Drinkable.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty and nutty with some resiny notes. Flavor is tangy and spicy at the beginning with a very dry middle and a lingering, bitter finish.

Saranac Winter Lager is a clear, amber beer with a fluffy, off white head that has decent retention. It smells slightly sweet, malty and peppery. It’s medium-light bodied and the finish is a little gritty. It has a peppery twang that’s balanced well with a green, botanical bitterness that lasts through the finish. There’s nothing really stand-out here.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale nutty brown body with a thin dissipating white head. Weak nutty aroma with some yeasty and skunky notes. Flavor is very similar to aroma with some decent roasted malty notes. Pretty bland. Thin body. For a winter lager I would like some spice and more robust flavors.
