sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 6, 2009 Tap at brewpub as J’s Hoppy light Ale.
Pours golden, mid-orange, white head.
Aroma, is simple, light hoppy notes, malty nose with hints of pine.
Flavor, malty, lihgt in palate, not too much hops in the profile, mildly malty with some roast and light spices.
At 4% this one ends with a nice hoppy mouthfeel freshness.
Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Mar 27, 2009 On tap at the Florida Brewers Guild BeerFest 2009 and listed as JP Hoppy Light at 4% and 40 IBU. Pours clear gold with tiny off white head. The aroma has a light amount of citrus hops, some earthy hops, spicy and a touch of floral to go along with a malty sweetness in the background. The taste starts out somewhat neutral with an small pulse of malt sweetness. Quickly a fresh bail of Cascade hops descends on the flavor with citrus, spice, some earthiness and solid citrus hop flavor that becomes modestly bitter by about midway. It thins out into the finish with lingering citrus and spicy hops to go along with a bit of sweet malts to create a pleasing end to the experience. Very nice pale ale. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2008 on tap-pours a white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is crisp, grain, citrus-lemon hops, slight musty. Taste follows. Comes across as a light hoppy pilsner. Tmoney99 (4661), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 18, 2007 Draft at brewpub. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of short duration. My expectations where met. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 8, 2006 American Pale Lagers seem to get a bad rap because of all the Macro beers that everybody drinks. Yet here is a very tasty one. A great balance between the maltand the hops. nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2006 The aroma and flavor are bursting with hops with only a little sweet malt to balance. The appearance is pale gold. The palate is thin but not watery. Overall I really like this beer. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Jan 22, 2006 Clear golden color with nice thin head.I can’t diss this, it may only be 4% but this was hoppy as shit, very nice hop bite and flavor to it, some malitiness, really can’t believe it’s only 4%
