Pours dark brown, off-white head.
Aroma of roasted malts and faint nose of chocolate.
Taste, is similar, plenty of roasted malts, some dark fruits, and light notes of coffee/chocolate.
Tasty and easy to drink.

Dec 26, 2007 On tap at SB March 2005--Poured a deep brown-black body with a small tan head. Nose of burnt malts and roasty chocolate. Mouth feel a little thin, but flavor profile is good with some vanilla and chocolate in there. Finished on the dry side and something about it is just lacking. Pretty nice. Seems a lot of the high ratings are from Florida. This brewery is indeed an oasis from the plethora of bad beer in the state.

Aug 12, 2007 If you don’t like this, I’ll personally punch your jaw. This is a beverage so great, it will be spoken of for years to come, grandparents will tell their grandchildren of the day they had the best porter known to mankind.

Mar 6, 2007 On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007.The pour is deep brown with decent tan head. The aroma seems vanilla like with hints of roasted and burnt malts. The flavor starts off with burnt and some sweet roasted malts. About midway a vanilla note arrives and stays around into the finish along with a dry burnt malt sensation. Nice porter with plenty of interest.

Dec 10, 2006 on tap-pours a light brown head and black color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt-licorice/sweet. Taste is dark malt-licorice/sweet, faint hops bite. Faint coffee aftertaste. Mild carbonation.

Aug 8, 2006 I do love a good porter yet this one fall a few notches short of fantastic. Its got a milder version of the standard aromas and taste of cocoa and coffee. Still very drinkable.

Mar 25, 2006 On tap at the brewpub in Sarasota. My choice for a pint from the sampler. Dark brown fading to black pour with nice thick khaki colored head. Earthy aroma with hints of coffee and cocoa. Flavor has some fresh earthy accents to it with some potting soil, coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is thickish and slightly oily. Very good brewpub porter.
