Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Bratislava. Dark lager. Light crisp start rapidly followed by a coffeeish bitter undertone. Dry finish. Very easy drinking. Nice.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was my first (to my recollection) dark Slovak beer. Served with a fluffy, foamy, frothy, thick tan head that lasted and some lace. Color is a clear, dark garnet. Aroma is mild, roasty, dark malt, a little coffee, cocoa, & fruit. Flavor was the same with not too much sweetness. Reminds me a little of a black lager. Body is a tad light and has good carbonation. Finish is like flavor with short to medium length. Very easy drinking beer. Session

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Huge creamy, brownish head. Dark brown to black color. Malty, medium sweet aroma. Some notes of roasted malt, wood and molasse. Flavor is quite sweet, licorice, sugar, cola, malts, roasted and burnt flavors and a roasty bitterness in the end. Quite complex but all in all far to sweet for me.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2010 Huge cream-to-brownish head, very stable over deep garnet-brown beer. Thick roasted malts smell, melanoidins ŕ gogo, sweet, slightly woody. Sweet, liquorice-like with a burnt-metallic bittereness that doesn’t chase the syrupy sugarflavour. Chemical flavour that keeps hanging around. Quite slick, but light body. Way too sweet dull Dunkel. Many thanks to Lenka, Tomăš and Peter.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, bought and drank in Kosice. Good roasted aroma. Very sweet flavor, with caramel, chocolate, and cola. Not very roasted at all. Creamy, too sweet, and also has some artificial flavor. Not at all good from the bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.5 l bottle as a gift.
Non-transparent dark brown (nearly black) colour with a beige coloured medium head on top.
Roasty and sweet smell, sweet taste.
Flavour’s of toffee and coffee, aroma’s flavorous and of roasted/caramell malt and citrus hops.
The finish is coffeebitter and moderate dry.
The body’s medium, texture’s light sticky.
Overall for me a delicious stuff, which is beside of that since years my No.1 Slovakian beer...

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught in Párkány/Sturovo, Slovakia.
Dark brown colour with pale brown head. Lots of dried fruits in aroma along with dried plums or darker berries and old thermos coffee. Lots of butterscotch and tad youghurty due to long keg life in the pub. Bit coffee and quite some dried fruits again, and a mellow darkness all along, before a low, yet subtle bitterness sets in. Low-medium bodied.
