Great color and texture. Toasty malt with brown sugar tones. Very little hops flavor. Definitely the best dark beer in Slovakia. Bottled in Smolenice SK

Draught at the 1.Slovak Pub, Bratislava, Slovakia. –Certanly the best slovak beer that I had in Bratislava, dark brown coloured, minimal pale brown head, roasty malt flavor, chocolate and mild coffee aroma, pleasant light sweet finish
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 asheft (2265) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2005
[on tap somewhere in the Czech Republic]
Clear, ruby-black (almost opaque) with a filmy, beighe head that formed a thich ring and nice lacing. Creamy and toasty malt aroma with just a touch of noble hops. Is this a schwartzbier?: Sweet, lowly toasty malt that gives way to a gentle hops and malt-derived bitterness. Interesting blend fo lager and dark malt--almost makes a creamy, minty flavour. Light to medium body with medium carbonation and a little lingering bitterness.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mdulcey (4) - Dorchester, Massachusetts, USA - APR 8, 2005 does not count
I had this on tap in Kosice. A very dark brown beer with strong roasted malt flavor. Moderate head as served (at cellar temperature). Just enough hop bite to clear the malt from the palate. A fine example of a dark lager, and the best beer I had in Slovakia.

Bottled. Intensely dark brown, very small head. Sweet with roasty malt, coffee with cream and some blood. Grass and some licorice in a salty finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jukkabro (3486) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 4, 2004
Almost black colored with light brown head. Chocolate and malty aroma, nice one. Last week I travelled through Baltics drinking almost 10% alcohol content beers, now this 3.8% feels pretty mild. Chocolate flavor is strong in start, ends to be very fruity. Long lasting aftertaste is nice, for me some strange hops maybe used in this brew. Carbonation could have made this beer better, still very good and different beer. My first beer from Slovak.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MiP (12242) - Sřnderborg, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2004
Almost black. Light brown head. Quite sweet, but with some stouty liquoriceness. Aftertaste liq. A little less sweet and this could have been great.
