manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, - DEC 30, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2009 330ml bottle from 16th St.Liquor in West Vancouver. Pours a rich golden hue with a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of white pepper, clove, lemongrass, bready malts, grassy hops, a touch of yeast, and phenolic. The taste starts with a crisp dose of bitters and citric fruit but is quickly vanished by replaced by light pale malt and yeast character with a heavy amount of supporting alcohol. Biting and sharp but seems overcarbonated, no masking the ABV here. Okay but no where near the quality of the better Belgian Strong Golden Ales out there or for that matter, Satan Red.

From elcervecero. In La Corne glass. Playing Tomb Raider 2015. A bit alcoholic but not unplesant thanks to a well placed sweetness

Bottle. Nose of yeast, sugar, some banana, apple, and very slight oxidation. Quite hot and boozy, too. Light hazy deep amber/gold, thin head, thick sticky lace. Light sweetish overrip fruit, orange, mild sugar, honey, and a bit of spice. Medium-heavy body. Kind of boring, overall, and hot on the tongue. Not terrible, but flavors don’t integrate well.

Den er ikke så stærk i smagen som man skulle tro med 8 %. Den er sød og smager ikke som en typisk belgier, m god alligevel.

No information about the malts and hops in detail on the bottle, drinktemperature well. A cloudy golden beer with a very long stable cream-colored head, yeast is dominated, fizzy carbonation, texture oily, medium body, more fruity than bitter, (I have 0.33l bottle with batch 4281/01 and best-before 08/10/2018)

One notices the heaviness of this Ale type beer from th eonset. This is a good beer to start a tasting session as it is both fruity and slightly bitter in the aftertaste. A beer with good potential that was not round enough for me.

Clear gold color. Medium carbonation. Aromas of bubblegum, banana, alcohol, caramel, nuts, and coriander. Dry for the style and strength. Mostly smooth, like a strong, yeasty pilsner. Spicy finish. A bit of hops. Medium body. Tastes like a less-smooth version of Duvel. Ok.
