12oz bottle. Pours very carbonated with off-white foam that quick dissipates. Golden/ruby color. Not quite as red as you’d expect with a name like Satan. I do like the creepy, naked Satan on the label...kind of weird. Not too strong of an aroma, but nice; pear, apple, some barnyard funk, and a hint of alcohol. Sweet taste of bready malts and caramel with a bitter earthy finish. I could drink a lot of these if it wasn’t for the 15.99/four pack price.

Rating #1767 - 2015.06.26 - Bottle at Belgian Beer Cafe YEG. Clear amber pour with a giant head with decent retention. Aroma is meyer lemon/tangerine, coriander, mild spicy note, and of course, booze. Taste is definitely full bodied, to the point of off-balance with alcohol being the primary note in the finish.

Bottle - Cloudy amber colour, medium off-white head with fair retention. Typical belgian fruity esters, nothing mre. Taste is also typical belgian, with some bubble gum, stone fruits and sourdough. Medium body and carbonation, sweet and a bit boozy finish. Not bad just boring.

Demens (219) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 20, 2016
0,33l bottle. Hazy deep copper colour with quickly disppearing white head. Aroma: Sweet honey, caramel, fruits, notes of leather. Taste: Sweet malty start with a sweet/sour mouthfeel. A bit too boozey. The bitter caracter comes later. Medium body with a bit too harsh fizzy carbonation. Long bitter/sour finish.

maekchu (3400) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 26, 2016
Bottle from local Heiwado supermarket. Haven’t seen this one around for years, so I though I’d retry and rate it. Very sugary-sweet nose, mildly yeasty, with light spice, and a dollop of alcohol. Deep copper, fine thin head. Very sweet, malty initial, some berries, marshmallow, and dark fruit. Medium-heavy body, and quite warming. Fairly hot, and a bit unrefined. I certainly felt my younger self (15-20 year ago) when drinking this, as in... I used to think this was pretty decent stuff.
