4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a coppery brown, slightly clouded, with a beige one-finger head with moderate retention that leaves slight but attractive lacing.
The nose is a holiday kitchen: pie spices, pumpkin, maple.
Unusually in this era of grandly named beers that do not match their marketing, this is a maple beer with maple taste. That’s not the only thing that’s going in the glass, as vanilla, allspice and nutmeg join squash that takes on a roasted tone. It’s just a step short of the festive aroma, but still makes for a good taste mix, sweetish, but not cloying.
This is an unexpectedly good fall-winter beer, with genuine pumpkin flavor enhanced by the splash of maple.

bottled - this came highly rated from a friend but I’m definitely not a fan. Didn’t like anything about it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2014.12.13 - Saucony Maple Mistress - on tap at Always Rons.
Pretty tasty. It's part pumpkin pie beer, but the maple definitely gives it some different angle. Tasty beer in its own right regardless of being a pumpkin beer.

Cloudy orange in color with a thin head. Very easy to drink. Super smooth with low carbonation. Light but with a rich favor. Nutmeg, maple, squash a little bit. Very balanced flavors. Not overwhelming in flavor.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer deep orange-reddish rusty color with a one finger fizzy cream colored head. The head fades almost instantly leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is massive of a pumpkin pie spice with tons of cinnamon, a mound of nutmeg and some clove. Along with these aromas comes a big level of sweeter caramel and brown sugar as well as would be expected for a brew with maple syrup added a big sweet maple syrup smell. Along with the sweet and spice, comes the aromas of pumpkin and squash that have been nicely roasted. Overall the aroma is quite pumpkin pie like in nature and quite delicious.
Taste – The taste begins with a massive hit of maple syrup and brown sugar with a good base of a bready malt taste mixed with a good showing of a pumpkin like flavor. The maple syrup, while strong upfront, gets even stronger as the flavors advances, with the squash initially gaining a roastiness more toward the middle of the taste. Along this time, the spices, of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, which were lighter upfront, really gain intensity to the end. While the squash flavors grow slightly more roasty toward the middle, they lose the roasted flavor, and with the increase in the sweet and the spice, end up leaving a maple syrup flavored pumpkin pie taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the big maple and sugary sweet pumpkin pie flavors of the brew the feel is very nice, with the creamy texture of the brew complementing nicely the dessert characteristics of the beer.
Overall – A rather nice and sweet thick and tasty pumpkin pie flavored brew with a huge maple syrup presence. While at 9.5% abv., the alcohol is barely detectable and makes for a fantastic sipping dessert brew. Definitely one to try if you get the chance.

Exactly as stated. Like IHOP and a Starbucks pumpkin latte had sex in a alcohol condom. Syrupy and pumpkin with imperial bite that is just right. Almost too sweet but it is to be expected as this is what they are going for
