Poured from bottle. Pours a nice gold-orange color with a creamy 1 finger white head. Aroma is a mix of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove) along with sweetness from the butternut squash and the malt. Taste is fairly well-balanced with a mix of the spices and the sweetness. I really didnít get a lot of the maple in the aroma or the taste, but this beer is quite tasty and drinkable.

Pours into the glass with a soapy eggshell head that leaves ring lacing. The nose is of molasses, maple syrup, rum raisin, dark stone fruits, caramel and pound cake. Flavors follow suit, with dark stone fruit esters, caramel, breadiness, raisins, plums and prunes, finishing with a hint of ABV, maple syrup/molasses and rum raisin bread. Soft carbonation lends a nice contrast to the light alcohol heat, providing a full body and smooth quaff to the palate. Easily drinkable, and will sneak up on you if not careful, itís that well-integrated, complex and delicious. A substantial Impy Belgian Strong Ale here, for sure! Delicious!

12 oz bottle. Almost clear auburn with a clingy off-white head. Nose is cinnamon, clove and rum raisin; a hint of squash if you dig deep. Medium body with a tang finishing bready. Taste is maple, cinnamon, clove and toffee. Not so much squash but works well as a spice brew; maybe warmed?

Amber and nearly headless Aroma is maple sweet, with some nutmeg. Taste is mild, and hides the alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bronze copper appearance with a half-finger off-white head; strong lacing. Aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, pumkin, squash and sugary, syrupy sweetness with alcohol hints at the 9.5% ABV. The taste, rum, vanilla and spice and molasses with medium carbonation. Dry finish on the back end. A strong ale that is full-bodied and weighty, but drinkable

12 ounce bottle. Hazy oppression color topped by a small creamy beige head. Faint toasted malt nose has a hint of cinnamon. Flavor is a amalgamation of roasted squash, cinnamon, maple syrup and herbal hops. Obvious alcohol upfront. Earthy, dark sugar comes through in middle. Bittersweet woody funk in finish. Rather unique flavors at play. Interesting and worth seeking out.

Bottle. Good all around seasonal beer, nice pumpkin flavors with hint of maple. Strength doesnít come through the taste, good choice for the style

First taste of this brew and it is pretty good. Definitely taste the maple in it and maybe if drunk a little warmer the squash. Hints of a rum finish.

DATE TASTED: October 16, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Affligem chalice.. OCCASION: return home after wishing Mom a happy birthday in H-town... APPEARANCE: dense, dark chestnut body; sediment settles to the glassís bottom; incredibly strong head retention, at a half-finger off-white; lacing is inconsistent but strong... AROMA: nutmeg, cinnamon and the slightest hints of sugary, syrupy sweetness; the bourbon/rum element is alluring and hints at the 9.5% ABV to come .. PALATE: warming, active and fizzy on the tongue; dry finish on the back end; otherwise, a strong ale that is full-bodied and weighty... TASTE: the rum--vanilla and spice--and molasses combination is lethal--full, flavorful and sweet; easily drinkable for a beer this weighty; a candied, dark and sweet profile that lightly evokes the autumnal vegetables, especially pumpkin and squash... OVERALL: having heard this is served in syrup-rimmed martini glasses at the brewery, I could not approximate those accouterments--and yet, the syrup and vegetable are formidable nonetheless, with the alcohol as subtle as the hops themselves...a sticky-sweet desertif that delivers a wicked good experience...

Bottle to pint glass. Been wanting to try this. Does not disappoint. Aroma is root vegetable, touch of spice, hint of maple. Something almost wine-y. All very subtle. Cloudy medium brown look, creamy off white head. Taste is definitely butternut squash and nutmeg. Maybe maple. Feel is creamy, but leaves a sharp dryness on finish. Nice beer. I know they donít want to kill it with sweetness, but a little more maple would go a long way and make this superb. The harpoon maple is better.
