2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
$2.20 Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours... ok, there are chunks in this beer. Like chunks of snot or glue. Pours a chunk dark amber with a small head. Chunks settle to the bottom. Very mild aroma. Light maple and pumpkin. Some spicing. Taste is heavy nutmeg and cinnamon, light maple, pumpkin, and copper. The chunks turned out to be not-so-well blended spices as the beer was spicier the more I drank.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to pint glass. Been wanting to try this. Does not disappoint. Aroma is root vegetable, touch of spice, hint of maple. Something almost wine-y. All very subtle. Cloudy medium brown look, creamy off white head. Taste is definitely butternut squash and nutmeg. Maybe maple. Feel is creamy, but leaves a sharp dryness on finish. Nice beer. I know they donít want to kill it with sweetness, but a little more maple would go a long way and make this superb. The harpoon maple is better.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drank from a bottle at Andy Gavins in Scranton. Has a nice imperial ale flavor with nice maple aromas. Taste is delicious but way too much spice, alright but delicious for an imperial with 10%

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Early fall beer grabbed at Crystal City Wine Shop. Nice chestnut brown color with a good tan head that lasts. The aroma is pretty much pumpkin pie and candied yams. Nice vegetal pumpkin at first, then some spiciness and finally some lingering rum warmth. Mighty fine fall sipper.

Bottle given to me by Dave, drank July 2015. Thanks Dave for this final beer from participating in your wedding party. Despite my long time to open this, it was realy nice. Some pumpkin, rum, light spices. Interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Captain Pumpkinís Maple Mistress has a thin, cream-colored head, a semi-clear, orange appearance, lots of tan sediment chunks all about, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of a spiced broom and sugary syrup. Taste is of a strongly-, but not overly-, spiced pumpkin pie, with some maple sweetness. No alcohol shows itself. Mouthfeel is medium, and Captain Pumpkinís Maple Mistress finishes sweet, wet, and enjoyable. RJT

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2015 This was my favorite pumpkin beer of 2014. /2015 update: not everything i reverted from last year. Maybe i need to let it age a bit. Getting more booze in flavor and not finding the maple. Hopefully letting it sit will allow the flavor to come out. Itís also possible Iím just over pumpkin beers.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a coppery brown, slightly clouded, with a beige one-finger head with moderate retention that leaves slight but attractive lacing.
The nose is a holiday kitchen: pie spices, pumpkin, maple.
Unusually in this era of grandly named beers that do not match their marketing, this is a maple beer with maple taste. Thatís not the only thing thatís going in the glass, as vanilla, allspice and nutmeg join squash that takes on a roasted tone. Itís just a step short of the festive aroma, but still makes for a good taste mix, sweetish, but not cloying.
This is an unexpectedly good fall-winter beer, with genuine pumpkin flavor enhanced by the splash of maple.
