Schnickelfritz Chocolate Stout 8% ABV Pennsylvania Germanís translate "Schnickelfritz" to mean a Nix Nux, or naughty rebellious child who is always getting into trouble. That sums up our family here at Saucony Creek. Schnickelfritz is brewed with dark caramel malts, chocolate malts and lactose to create a smooth creamy mouth feel. Milk chocolate and real cherries are added for a winter warmer treat.

Norfolk bottle during the CC course at Langley. Dark brown pour with pinkish highlights and a brown head that lasts. Aroma is light chocolate and some slightly tart fruit. Flavor has a hint of milk chocolate but Iím honestly missing the fruit. A little lingering boozy heat in the finish. Fine overall m

For an imperial I was surprised that it was low in the taste. It was sweet and a little too sugary to me. The color was very pale for the imperial style. The aroma was very light but still had a Cocoa scent and light sugar. I would not have guessed cherries. Tap at brewery.

Dark black pour. Loads of dark fruit/chocolate. Only drawback, it tends to get a bit syrupy. Otherwise a very tasty, ambitious effort.

Autumn seasonal, well it definitely held up to now. This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with a slim fingerís worth of a film of a white head. Lacing quickly slides into the beer. The smell had a nice sweet to roasty blend of chocolate, coffee, light cherries and a light vanilla rounding out and tie-ing it up softly. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine and give off a sweet sticky aftertaste leading to a sweet wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a pretty good sipping quality about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good milk/sweet stout showing some nice nuances coming about. Definitely a dessert and can only imagine what itís like fresh.

12 ounce bottle. Barely translucent dark brown color. Large rocky tan head. Funky, subtle toasted malt nose has notes of cherry cola and earthy caramel. Flavor is sweet roasted malt with A touch of caramel, milk chocolate and sweet cherries. The 8% ABV is hardly noticeable. Finish is dark fruit and some resiny hops. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel makes this eminently drinkable. Overall, a pretty decent high gravity stout.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a smell that reminds me of coffee and chocolate. Appearance- A pitch black pour with a thick tannish colored head. Taste- Didnít get it, it was semi-sweet but I didnít like the mesh of flavors. The milk chocolate, cherry and beer didnít work for me Palate- A full bodied beer with moderate carbonation and a creamy texture. Overall- An average beer at best. I liked the look and aroma but the flavor wasnít for me.
