Hop Suplex Ale 10% ABV Our 10% ABV Imperial IPA brewed with honey. The pleasant orange color of this beer accompanies classic American hop aromas of pine needles and freshly sliced grapefruit. Suplex has subtle hints of honey with a mouthful of hop flavor. As this medium bodied beer warms the orange blossom honey flavors become noticeable. The beer rounds out with a warm yet pleasant bitter finish. Best served at cellar temperatures.

Rich copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, pine, resin, grass, grapefruit and a touch of yeast mixed with bread. Full-bodied; Piney flavour with some grapefruit and herbal notes right behind. Metal, alcohol, dry oak and some white grapes then dominate with the alcohol the strongest. Aftertaste shows a very dry, herbal, grassy finish with a ton of hop bitterness, quite a bit of alcohol warmth and a herbal flavour that shows just about no sweetness at all. Overall, a pungent and long-lasting Imperial IPA with perhaps a touch too much alcohol and metal notes and not enough sweetness and complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 05-July-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 03-November-2015.

Pleasant color of orange/brown. Aroma of hop, honey, malt, spice, yeast and grapefruit. The flavor is absolutely honey and hop. Not too bitter for a IIPA, malt and earth complexion. Mild fruit component. Okay stuff.

Pours a hazy gold-orange with light sediment and thick head. A citrus hop, caramel, pine, and fruit malt. A strong taste of citrus hops, pine, caramel, malts, and light grains. Aftertaste is a mix of bitter citrus hop and sweet fruit malts.

Small, white head with excellent retention and a lasting lace. Lightly hazy, copper/gold hued ale. Nose of pine and stone fruits. Body is med/full, oily and a little juicy with a soft carbonation.Hop flavors dominate, pine, grapefruit and pineapple with a slightly sweet malt backing. Lightly sweet finish with not enough of a balancing bitterness. Decent product.Bottles from statelineliquors.

Poured from bottle purchase in to a snifter pint glass deep yellow orange with plenty of head. Aroma is hoppy grasses with subtle orange. Mild malts. Flavor is full out pine trees, definite juicy oranges, a touch of maltiness. Finish is not overly bitter. 10% ABV so not evident. Unless of course you drink this on an empty stomach after mowing the lawn....O_o.

Picked up bottle while on trip to Maryland. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter. Aroma is subtle picking up a little hop. Appearance is a very nice golden amber color with a slight haze. Head is almost nonexistent but what is there of a head is an off white. Taste is a perfect blend of hops and sweetness picking up grapefruit and slight grass. I only pick up a slight bitterness in the overall taste. Palate is perfect in my opinion for an IPA. This is a great dbl ipa and one I recommend you try if you haven’t. Cheers!

Draft at The Irish Pol. Slightly hazy orange amber pour with soapy bright white foam. Looks nice. Strong citrusy herbal resins. Tangerines. Varnish. Honeycomb. Feels pretty big (and is not shy about it) but finishes impressively smooth. Wish the flavors were more complex though.

Pint draft at Old Line Fine Wine, Spirits & Bistro, Beltsville MD. Appearance is deep amber, thin white head. Aroma is pine and evergreens plus some citrus. Taste is very aggressive and hops forward. Palate was medium. Overall a solid IIPA, and good hops.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Brian for this spilt. Hazy orange color, nice lacy head retention. Aroma is a good level of pine and light floral hops with traces of malts.

Mouthfeel is a chewy malt yeast like feel. The bitterness is fairly moderate with a mix of the pine and floral hops. Almost astringent bitterness. Overall if we were playing golf, this would be par for the course. Not bad. And I got to say I love the label!!
