12oz bottle from Spirits Brick. Poured a deep sunburnt orange amber body under an average sized fizzy off white head. Aroma is weak. Notes of pencil eraser rubbings, hop resin, super dry toast. Fuller bodied with strong fizzy carbonation that really fills up your mouth. Flavor started off with some strong soap notes but luckily that faded. What remained was crusts, citrus rind, grassy hops and some earth. Blah, let down.

Amber body, medium white head, spotty lacing. Biscuit, resin, grapefruit. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, semi-sweet throughout. More malty than I’d like.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Really interesting IPA. Pretty good fresh aroma. Pours gold with an orange hue and relatively thin head. Taste starts off with a LOT of big complexity and flavors associated with your traditional IPA (grapefruit, pine, etc), then takes a sharp turn into an anise/licorice flavor. Finishes pretty clean. Overall, a different albeit flavor filled experience!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hoppy, full, nice bitterness. Lightly malty underneath, but it is the hops that stand out. Fairly dry, just missing a bit of punch. Overall a fairly good IPA.
