Bottle from Arminetti. Pours a hazy orangey copper with a pale orange head leaving little lacing. Aroma has pine and citrus, and pine and citrus. Very spicy and over-dry-hopped aroma. Caramel pokes through eventually. Taste is of spicy pine, herbs, bitter grapefruit with some caramelly malt solidly underneath. Medium bodied and more syrupy/tangy than anything else. Finishes bitter. A big fan of over layering, but this one is salty/tangy too heavily where it was a bit hard to drink.

A decent Imperial IPA. Hops bitterness is pleasant, if a little "confused" from the different hops used. Just enough malt for my tastes, so that it doesn’t overbear the hops. The best from Saugatuck that I’ve had so far.

nice bright hops aroma, with plenty of green citrus and grassy, woody bitterness. some big malt and crystal caramel body and tons of hops to bitter it up. full body and a full finish but an enjoyable hops experience. nicely done but a touch on the heavy side.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy honey. Medium off white head. Citrusy aroma. Flavor is a combination of bitter pine and orange. Very dry vs. sticky. Big bitter palate. Tangy/bitter feel on the tongue. This was a fun beer. Lots going on, but hard to pin down. Bought as a single, but wouldn’t hesitate to buy a six pack when I see again. Definitely worth drinking again.

Do agree with some of the prev reviews. It's a beer that seems confused between being piney or citrusy. Not a bad beer but not one I'd opt for. It actually reminds me of Dogfish Head's 90 but w a much more citrus profile (and I love 90")! Cheers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2013 A very nice ipa, and my first from Saugatuck. Floral aroma with nice sweet taste. Good bitterness from the hops. Impressed by this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sample. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus complex hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

Pours a hazy orange color with a nice foamy white head that lingers a while. Nice hoppy aroma of citrus, flowers, pine, and some malt. Taste is fresh hops at first, lots of citrus and flowers, then a very strong bitterness hits. It actually seems to balance it out pretty well because there is a strong enough biscuity malt backbone. Finish is very dry and floral. Slight stale and metallic finish. Really like everything but the finish. It’s a bit harsh and dry.

Pours a hazy orange to amber with a nice thick rocky khaki cap that leaves extensive clingy lace. Nose is sweet honey and grain, some citrus, light pine and hints of tin. Taste is quite bitter with a light sweetness peeking through. Palate is lighter, with a very drying bitterness throughout. A solid DIPA, not too heavy bodied and quite refreshing for the ABV. Good stuff.
