A refreshing sessionable pale ale made exclusively utilizing Cascade hops from start to finish. The citrus and grapefruit hop characteristics balanced with a clean malt body makes it difficult to have just one.

2013-09-08. Crisp dark yellow body with a tiny white head. Aroma of hops, grain, bit of grapefruit? Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, light grains and muted citrus. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Decent but just okay. Bottle at Cafe D’Mongo’s Speakeasy, Detroit

pours hazy very light golden almost yellow with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. spicy and flowery citrus, oranges, chamomile, lean grainy cereals/malts, pepper, earthy/woodsy notes - vanilla hints, weed, grass and oxidation/dusty traces. moderately low carbonation, light body - slightly watery, clean, balanced and crisp herbal-grassy-spicy-citrusy finish. lean quenching pale ale.

Cask pour at Day/Night of the Living Ales 2013 at Goose Island - Wrigleyville (Chicago, IL). Pours a lightly hazed straw yellow hue, touches of inviting golden glow. Firmer bubbly whitish head atop dies to a film, laces small. Aromas are gentle citrus, lemon and orange, some grass, florals, bready malts. Initial is firmer bitter hops, resiny and florals, some lemon citrus and rind come into play. A bigger bitterness, small malt bill offer up. Middle is bigger bitterness, big florals, bitter earth, grass and lemons, some grapefruit. Mellow bready malts, straw, crisp grain. Backend is bitter, dry, resiny, a touch cereal grain offers up. Dry and bitter, dandelions, florals, grapefruit and lemons. Bigger bitterness and raw feel up front tapers off, dry and richer. Nice. Really fun find.

12oz bottle from Binnys Schaumburg. Pours a hazy orange-copper color.. Massive foamy white head. Earthy dry wheat, funky aroma. All signs point to mild infection. Its not entirely undrinkable, with a big zesty, piny hop bill, it sort of survives. Comes across pretty big for 4.9%. Decent ingredients, but pretty weak execution.

bottle. amber with small head and a fair amount of sediment. Not the most flavorful pale ale ever, but lots of hop bitterness. i’m not a fan of this one.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 6/15/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange zest, grapefruit, citrus rind, floral, grass, light pine, bread, light honey, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with some pretty dank feeling hop notes with a fair amount of malt balance; and decent strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, grapefruit, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, bread, light honey, and floral earthiness. Good amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, grass, pine, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor balance of dank citrus and floral/pine hop flavors; with a light amount of malt balance and some moderate astringent bitterness after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming after the finish. Overall this was a good session pale ale. Good balance of hop flavors, and very smooth to drink. The astringent bitterness knocked this down a bit, but otherwise it was an enjoyable pale ale.
