Dark pore. Malty nose. First taste very hoppy for a Porter. After that a good malt and chocolate flavor. Have had better, but is good.

Bottle from trade with Rayl101. Black pour, big lasting head with good lacing. Aroma is low, with light roasted notes. Flavor is roasty and moderately bitter. Strong carbonation.

Bottle. Pours black. Massive tan head that looks like a milkshake. Very malty. Good retention. Mild chocolate mild aroma. Roasty flavor, but not bitter. Mouthfeel is roasty coffee. First bottle of this a week ago was more bitter, but this had nice balance. Not supper thick, but nice drinkable porter.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2016 At the brewery tap house. This was pretty good. Decent malty porter but not overwhelming. Some where between sessionable porter and a chewier porter. Serving: Tap

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 1/7/2012. Pours crystal clear very dark reddish brown color with a very nice 2 finger dense khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Some good spotty lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, nuttiness, toffee, biscuit, herbal hops, and slight smoke. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, biscuit, nuttiness, toffee, light coffee, and herbal spiciness. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, light coffee, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance malt and bitterness; quite robust and no cloying flavors at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much no warming noticed at all after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice porter. Robust, balanced, and very drinkable. I really enjoyed this one, I don’t know what the other reviewers are drinking.

Pours dark brown with a very creamy tan head. The aroma has a lot of roast malt and also some dark fruit and a bit of vanilla. The flavor is nice and malty with a hint of chocolate. Nice beer.

Sweet versus roast aroma and taste. Dark brown color with average head and body. IMO, more of a rich brown ale than a porter!

Michigan Winter Beer Festival. Fairly nutty flavor. I found it a bit too malty as well. However, not bad and a very solid porter.
