COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Multiple hop varieties, extended boil times, plus dry hopping create this intensely aromatic IPA. The full malt body complements the hop bitterness leading to a crisp and refreshing taste. Named after the legen dary lumber boomtown of Singapore, now buried under the sands of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Kalamazoo River. 16.2°

A very middling IPA, to me. . . smells are all malt and barley, and it is a strangely light, cloudy-colored beer. The sharp hop profile subsides pretty quickly, which does make it somewhat drinkable. But the pilsnery, roasty notes really detract from it for me. The rare IPA that could use more attention to hops. . . meaning, not a real IPA.

Tap. Clean golden yellow. White head that leaves generous amounts webbing. Grapefruit nose, with good resinous pine. Fresh. Taste is less balanced. A bitter, hop bomb throughout. Good, but could use some rounding.

35,5cl bottle (7,0%) from Getränkefeinkost Berlin. Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, some tropical fruits, malt, pine and hints of caramel. Moderate to medium sweet with moderate and balanced hoppy flavours and a nice bitterness. Medium+ body, surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Nice.

pours almost cloudy pale golden with a small creamy off-white head, some retention and lacing. pine and resin, caramel and sweet toasted maltiness, hint of coconut, sweetened apple juice and hay, melon touch, some grapefruit. moderately low carbonation, light body - very oily though, slightly harsh citrusy-resinous finish. ok.

Keg at The Craft Beer Co. Covent Garden, London. Cloudy amber with white head. Quite confusing this one, there is an astringent bitterness on the nose but little follow through with the beer, there is a perfumed flowery note, some candy sweetness, an agglomeration of a beer. Not brilliant.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy yellow body. Resiny raisiny strawy aroma with perfumy floral notes. Sweetish resiny strawy raisiny taste with mealy spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy resiny wooden aftertaste with spicy floral citric notes. Lovely, full of flavour, and highly drinkable. (0.355l bottle, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen.)
