At the Lucky Stone Pub.(Brewery tap house). Sadly this brewery produces some total misses but thankfully this was pretty good. Quite sessionable a smooth malty palate and hints of peat. More like this one please SBC. Serving: Tap

On tap at the Wurst Bar in Ypsilanti. Pours amber with a white head. Peated malt and toffee aroma. Nice peated malt flavor with toffee, quite a nice vanilla flavor, some caramel and hints of citrus. Mostly clean finish, just leaving behind traces of the vanilla. I enjoy it.

On tap at the Saugatuck brewpub. Opaque burnt umber with next to no head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, toasted malt and nuts. Taste is malty with toffee, caramel and milder nuts. A touch over carbonated and has a zippy finish. Not bad.

Dark copper pour with an off-white head. Nose is pretty insubstantial, but hints of caramel sweetness. The flavors are sweet roasted malt, caramel and biscuity, but pretty mild for the style, and lightly bittered in the finish...but no hint of smoke or deeply roasted malt that the name made me thirsty for.

Draft sample at MBGF Summer09. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium dark toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew.
