OK beer. Did not fit the saison category very well in my mind. I was expecting a lighter sweet and spicy beer and this one was mostly sweet with very little complexity

Tap at vegan restaurant Strasbourg served in a little boot. Clear amber with small off white head. Lots of caramel, Christmas spices, orange, light plums, light roasted malts. Quite sweet with soft bitter finish. Medium bodied with a bit watery feel. Quite standard French Christmas beer, Not bad.

[Draught at Le Black Dog, Paris, May 26] 51st rating of my Paris/Amsterdam trip. As ’La Licorne Ambrée’, I’m assuming it goes here as I’ve found nothing else on the internet that comes close. Pours a deep amber with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is malty only, with maybe some fruit and spices in there. Flavour’s the same, all malt with a hint of fruit and spice -- simple, there’s not much there. Average bodied. Not much going on, an average Amber beer.

Rating #725, a bottle shared with Amer and Troels. A brown beer with a small head. Aroma is metal, caramel, a bit spicy hops and alcohol. Flavor is grainy and breadlike, and it has some metal and hops as well. A bit of fruit. Palate is a bit thin.

Bouteille 33 cl Leclerc - Houtaud (F).

Naja... 11/7/7/8/13/7
