From notes. At C’est What. Slightly cloudy amber with a tall tan head. Aroma of slight sweet malts and some floral bitterness. Malts balanced by yeasty bread and lingering floral bitterness.

Dark clear brown, citrus herbal hop aroma and taste, some fruit and caramel, overall balance dry, a full feel, finish resinous and grapefruit pith with a touch treacly.

375ml bottle, opened Aug 1 based on July 29 best after date. Three fingers of khaki head. Unfiltered brown amber pour. Piney, sprucey, grapefruit hops over a sweet Belgian malt, hint of musty yeast. Taste is well balanced between IPA hops and dubbel malts. Body is dry and effervescent. Overall, a good blend of styles, definitely timed well with the aging.

July 2, 2012 - on draught at Bar Hop. Slightly hazy bright and refractive copper-amber with a large creamy/frothy slowly diminishing tan head. Some noticeable up-front alcohol in the aroma, sharp fresh grain, somewhat acidic and definitely not sweet at all, redolent of floral bitterness. Taste is a bit boozier, and very sharp and acidic - the floraléherbal bitterness is more in the background, and it really tastes red (rye?). Average body, solid carbonation, quite dry and a grabby somewhat alcoholic long bitter linger - a little big for its abv, but solid.

Tap at The Rhino. Hazy amber-red pour. The aroma is sort of dusty and a little bit fruity. Notes of dried fruit, some pear and plum in addition to some light sticky sweetness. Moderate earthy hoppiness along with a little bit of lift resin. I wouldn't necessarily pick out the hoppiness per se. Earthy and a touch fruity. Dusty finish with a touch of woodiness. It's okay - but it isn't really all that much to write home about. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at Bryden’s for ’Best of the West’, June 21. Pours a hazy deep copper with a spare long-lasting frothy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma: I didn’t expect this, it smells great, it’s so fruity and has a good amount of hops. Flavour, again, is fruity and hoppy with a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. I really enjoyed this.

Hazy amber pour, quick white head. Earthy aroma with overripe banana, dried leaves, rotting crabapples and pine. Medium body. Sweet up front with a lingering biterness. Not quite seasonal but nice balance and unique brew.

Appearance: cloudy red, snow white head, aroma: grass, malt, sweet, pine, fruit juice, spice and a good amount of wood. Flavour: Smokey, coriander, malt, grass, pine, long malty finish. Lovely.
