COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Do you always dive right into the deep end or do you wade in slowly? Do you rush in or do you stop to think about it before you decide? Well sometimes it’s nice to take your time. There’s no need to rush, take it slow, ease in and get it right. And that’s exactly what we did with our Gateway Kolsch; we took the time to get it right. Paying homage to the lagered ales of Koln Germany, this Kolsch style ale is aged a little longer, letting all the flavours mellow, making it one easy beer to drink. Brilliant yellow and clear as a summer’s day, this golden ale is for all of you out there who like to sit back relax and take the time to get it right.

Very Coleen pour. Just a touch hazy. You can still see through it thou.. Lacy white head. No real discern able scent. Surprising amount of taste despite the near nothing scent. Has a stong grassy bitter taste. The type you get in some of those organic salads. There’s noting terrible about this but nothing great either. It’s alright.

Can from the brewery. Clear and bright straw-gold body with a healthy white head. Mellow aroma of lightly toasted grain, slight honey-on-toast sweetness, and a subtle herbal hint. Flavour is equally subtle and balanced - light bready malt, nice noble hop character with a brief hint of green peppercorn, clean and quick finish. Simple, but elegant, and a good take on the style.

can from The Beer Store, I am going to have to learn as much as I love to support the local beer scene. Kolsch just does not cut it for me. It is still good and well made , just not my ’Cuppa". If you are looking for a decent local lager this is worth a try.

On tap at the Loop, in Toronto. Yellow colour with thin white head. Aroma is grain, yeast. Taste is grain, some fruits. Refreshing but will be quickly forgotten.

473ml can. Canned Oct 3, 2014. Pours a clear yellow with a thin, white head. Aroma has notes of grain and lager yeast. Taste is balanced. Slightly sweet grain, hunts of fruityness, and clean lager yeast. Medium body and carbonation. Easy drinking and clean in the mouth. Overall a good "everyone" beer. Non-offensive and enjoyable by all.

Pours honey gold with a one finger picket fence white cap on top. This is a damn fine brew, but you wouldn’t know it from some of the confused & illogical ratings below (for example saying that a beer is good for the style & then giving it a low rating is just weak). It’s a great little Kolsh, nice & crisp pilsner hopping, brisk & refreshing finish. If you have a drinking buddy who is a lager girl/boy give ’em this. If you like to start the night with the heavy & hop bombing stuff consider ending your session with this.

Pretty basic beer. Easy drinking and refreshing. Good for the style and good for a hot day.

Pint at the Loon. Clear golden with no head. Pleasant, lightly fruity grainy cereals, light grassy noble hops. Medium body, somewhat relaxed carbonation. Nice biscuit and cereal, modest noble hops, slightly fruity, quite nice. A nice pint.

This Gravenhurst, Ont. brewery makes a lot of creatively named and flavoured beers, but this Kolsch-style lagered ale is the entry point for less adventurous drinkers. It’s an easy-drinking, pale gold brew made with pilsner and wheat malt and spalter and magnum hops. It’s both reasonably crisp and slightly sweet and is a sessional five-per-cent alcohol.

Straw coloured. A touch hazy. Good foam. Nose is bready. Flavour is refreshing with a nice spicy hop kick in the finish . Well done Sam ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
