Pours a golden amber with a medium off-white head, that unfortunately doesn’t last long. Aroma is citrus and resinous hops and sweet malt. Taste is big on the bitter grapefruit and pine resin with a good sweet buiscuit malt to round it out. Body is medium with average carbonation.

Really nice flavour, not overly hoppy, good colour and nice aroma, definitely worth a try.

Generally not a huge fan of strong hop-forward IPA's. But this has good complexity on nose and hops are upfront but well integrated. This could be great vector to explore more IPA's for those like myself. Nicely done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650mL from my lickbow. Pours a clear copper with a small beige head and the aroma is full of nice piney hops and a malt backbone playing a supportive role. The flavour is where this one shines and you get a nice wave of juicy citrus hops followed by some bitter astringency in the finish. Minor fruity esters linger on the palate such as blood orange and peach. Rides along on a tasty biscuit-malt body. A solid IPA from Sawdust City.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2013 April 3, 2012 - on cask at Burger Bar. I have a rating for this in my backlog, but this is a more representative experience with this beer, I suspect. Almost murky amber-orange pour with a smallish off-white frothy head (3+). Terrific aroma - tons of citrus, light and not too sweet fruit malt backing, definitely some alcohol in there. Taste follows, but much maltier than I expected, and a lot of black tea, weirdly - just moderate alcohol; a bit twiggy. Fairly thick-bodied, solid carbonation for cask, a medium-long grapefruit pith dry palate-coating finish ... solid beer, room for improvement, but already much better than the first batch or two, so well done. Sawdust City continue to impress out of the gate. Original rating = 3.7 Updated for 2013 - this beer just gets better all the time - I have to bump to 3.9.

Pours a nice deep gold colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malty sweet, with pine and grapefruit balancing out the nose. The flavour is solid, a good malty, toffee and biscuit baseline, with juicey hop notes of tropical grapefruit, grapefruit, ends on a sort of muddled note of sweet and bitter, but all and all its very solid.

Single from the LCBO and first Sawdust for me. Pours a rich golden-amber colour with a frothy white cap that stays long and gives out thick bubbly lacing. Beautiful fresh hop nose with some grass and grapefruit citrus. Hints of sweet fruits and burnt malts eventually come out. Wet mouthfeel, but well-balanced with some light dryness from the hop and great bitterness. Behind the pine-grapefruit is fine malt balancing everything with notes of grains. This is pretty well-brewed West Coast IPA. Highly recommended.

Bomber from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear orange-amber with a nice off-white froth. Aroma: Rich, strong, thick pine/resin, lots of peach/apricot fruitiness, big crunchy caramel/toffee malts, a little dusty, some booze, peppery, really nice. Palate: Medium+ body, fine effervescence, slick. Flav.: Lots of rich toffee maltiness, big and crunchy, yet dry, a big helping of pine/resin, dank, still some peach apricot fruitiness, dark bread crust, impressive; dry with very good bitterness and a long, richly malty and pine/grapefruit/resin finish.

Great stuff.
