Designed to withstand the grueling voyage from Earth to Uranus. Long Dark Voyage is a Uranal stout of the highest order. Ass puckeringly bitter and dry as a bone, this dark chocalate treat is quite dangerous and will sneak up on you from behind if you don’t keep your wits about you. You’ve been warned!

Pours an opaque black with a little tan head. Smell is a whole lot of coffee and a bit of chocolate. Palate is medium bodied though lacks a bit of carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet at first then gets bitter with lots of roasty flavour, before going into a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Also some good alcohol warmness in the throat.

473ml can. Pitch black with a frothy brown head. Flavors are toasted bread, caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, licorice, pine resin and alcohol. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy texture.

Tallboy from the LCBO. Pours black. Jet black. As black as space itself. Like a thick oil. Medium head, retains a nice lacing. Nose is slightly astringent. Maybe piney. Flavour is...wow. Incredible. Deep roasted caramel, dark chocolate, herbs, pine. Wow. Hides the 10%+ ABV well. Very well balanced. A little too much hop presence for a stout, in my opinion, but balances well with the malts and alcohol. Beautiful mouth feel. Slick and almost oily. Carbonation is just right.

2015/02/22 - Pours an opaque, jet black colour with a thin, foamy, tan head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, wood, vanilla, nutty tones and roasted/ smokey malts. Taste is bitter chocolate, vanilla, woody tones, roasted coffee, sweet toasted malts and booze. Mouthfeel is slick, with average carbonation and a dry, bittersweet, warming finish. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very tasty. This is rare among stouts I’ve had lately: It’s balanced. There is a sweet, syrupy overtone that balances out the alcohol and burnt bitter taste, making it easy to toss back. I guess that means it’s smooth. Chocolate, toast, vanilla and pear. The alcohol content hits you like a grenade near the end. Damn good. If only it were cheaper.

Pours inky black with a small brown head that lowers to a ring. Aroma is big dark chocolate and burnt malt. Taste is big dark chocolate with lots of roasted malts. Not terribly complex but pretty tasty.

Dark black, thick. Sparse head that stays around. Chocolate aroma, sour. Coffee and chocolate taste, with some smoky flavour. I am not a fan of stouts, but as a stout, it is a very good beer.

small tan / brown head. Nose brings out roasted malt, alcohol, and cocoa - sure smells boozy. Flavour sure is robust, with oak, strong roasted malt, dry cocoa, and more roast. Decent alcohol bun as well. Super robust and quite complex, but on the brutal side.

I find it to be chocolatey but not sweet. Strange but true. Kind of like the sensation of eating very dark chocolate, but also with a definite alcohol infusion, but again not in a sweet way. I’d also describe it as "hot" as you can definitely taste the alcohol in this thing.

On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Opaque black body with a thin beige, creamy head. Rich malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate and roasty hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Taste is dominated by grainy and roasty flavors. It carries cocoa, coffeeish, and woody notes. Ends with a good bitter/roasty finish.
