COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed to withstand the grueling voyage from Earth to Uranus. Long Dark Voyage is a Uranal stout of the highest order. Ass puckeringly bitter and dry as a bone, this dark chocalate treat is quite dangerous and will sneak up on you from behind if you don’t keep your wits about you. You’ve been warned!

Pours an opaque black with a little tan head. Smell is a whole lot of coffee and a bit of chocolate. Palate is medium bodied though lacks a bit of carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet at first then gets bitter with lots of roasty flavour, before going into a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Also some good alcohol warmness in the throat.

Dark tar in the glass; leather on the tongue. This is a delicious creeper. On tap at the griffin in brace bridge.

Tap, nice and roasty aroma. The flavour is also, quite roasty, chocolaty and a good full body and a nice smooth finish. Very complex, This beer is certianly on par or near par with some of the top stouts. Surprised by the low rating of this one, guess it’s not ment to have on cask.

On cask at Volo
Aroma: dry roast , Arabic gum, coffee, clean smooth alcohol , touch of chocolate, ash like dryness. Very nice.8-
Look: poured dark brown with plus sized creamy top. Handsome.
Taste / Palate etc.: full bodied. Sharper alcohol hit as you progress. Fairly strong espresso coffee hints noted. Solid sipper.

Bottle at Volo. Opaque with a small brownish head. Black coffee, a touch of anise, and some roast in the nose. The flavour is not as big as some, nor as dry as the description suggests, but it is appealing and drinkable. Cocoa, coffee, anise, and an interesting herbal note. I’ll get this one again.

Bottle at Volo. While not the prime example of an IS, it keeps on drinking/sipping with just good ingredients: licorice, chocolate, roast. Black with small retained off-white head. Good roast aroma.

On Tap @ Gambrinus - poured blacker than a tax collector’s heart, 1 finger tight-pored cap, very soft carbonation. Big coffee/roast tones in the aroma as well as some dark fruts a touch of vanilla and some wet hay. Big hefty body and substantial mouth feel, roasty-coffee-fruity in front with a decent hop bite - long drying finish. A really satisfying drink

[4282-20120202] Cask. Old boot sole roasted malt aroma has a light apple skin note. Black body with a bubbly brown head. Bitter roasted malt flavour. Full body is quite dry. Interesting to sample but hard to finish. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

On tap at Volo. Pours a dark brown colour with small tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee with a herbal bitterness. Flavour is quite roasty with cocoa, coffee and modest herbal hops. Roasty, bitter finish. Nice and dangerously drinkable.
