COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed to withstand the grueling voyage from Earth to Uranus. Long Dark Voyage is a Uranal stout of the highest order. Ass puckeringly bitter and dry as a bone, this dark chocalate treat is quite dangerous and will sneak up on you from behind if you don’t keep your wits about you. You’ve been warned!

Pours an opaque black with a little tan head. Smell is a whole lot of coffee and a bit of chocolate. Palate is medium bodied though lacks a bit of carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet at first then gets bitter with lots of roasty flavour, before going into a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Also some good alcohol warmness in the throat.

Thanks to PaleAleRider for finding a bottle for me. Now written 9% ABV. Pours a dark black colour with very little ruby highlights. The beige head is big, creamy, has great retention and loads of creamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt with some dark fruits getting stronger with time and hints of nuts and vanilla. The mouthfeel is kind of light and goes down smoothly as not much burning. Lots of hop creating some bitterness in the taste. This overpowers the roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits and coffee notes. A hoppier-than-average Imperial Stout.

February 23, 2014. 650mL bottle from LCBO. Really deep, dark brown colour. Brown head that dissipated. Nice lacing. Bitter chocolate, coffee and raisin in nose and taste. Bit too harsh/bitter for my liking.

Can’t wait for the brewpub to open in Muskoka. One of the best stouts I’ve had this winter.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of dry roasted malt with some bitter black chocolates. Taste is also dominated dry roasted malt notes with some dry bitter tasting black chocolate. Body is quite full with some creamy texture notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very enjoyable imperial stout with enough character and good drinkability level.

Bouteille de 650ml. Drôle de jeu de mot pour une bière noire qui s’appelle voyage to your anus.

This hits all the right notes. Pours black with limited head and some spotty lacing. Nose is espresso. Notes of espresso, bitter dark chocolate, burnt toast, some molasses maybe. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is on the lighter side with a pretty bitter, dry finish.

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small dark brown head that leaves good lace. Smells of chocolate, vanilla and dark fruits. Starts with sweet chocolate and malt and then turns unexpectedly and pleasantly dry and bitter with a long finish. Mouth is a bit thin with soft carbonation. Excellent.

650ml bottle from lcbo. Pours black with a tan, one finger head that thins to a solid film that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is large with notes of milk and dark chocolate, roasted malts, and alcohol boozyness. Almost a barreled aroma. Taste starts with some milk chocolate then quickly moves to a big bitter dark chocolate then ends with some espresso coffee bitterness at the end. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Creamy and full in the mouth with a fairly dry finish. Overall really nice. Big flavours paired with a great sipping mouth feel. A great beer and well worth buying if you see it. Will get it again for special occasions.
