COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mahogany perfection glistening off the lake, itís pristine finish shimmers as it glides effortlessly across the water. The gentleman driver leans back and relaxes, letting the fresh lake air blow through his hair. Images of those classic wood powerboats populate the memories of Muskoka and lakes across North America. And to commemorate this bygone era, Sawdust City has brewed a beer as classic and pristine as the waterfront that once ruled our lakes. Olí Woody Alt is a lagered ale, fashioned after the beers from the Dusseldorf region of Germany. Filtered to a gleaming mahogany this ale drinks as smooth as the finish on those iconic wood boats of yesteryear. So come on down to Sawdust City and savour a taste of the past.

Can LCBO: red beer with tiny beige head. Sweet, hoppy nose. Taste is of caramel, malt, and earth. Sticky mouthfeel with a decent bitter finish. A little thin. Just okay.

Canned. Dark red, large white head. The aroma is sweet, nutty and with caramel. The taste is good, like an alt should be.

473 ml can from the brewery via Steve (thanks!), served quite cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep copper with a orange-tan head. Aroma: Rich sweet bready malt, bread crust, melanoidin, clean. Palate: Medium body with moderate+ carbonation. Flav.: Much like the nose with nice bready maltiness, a touch of woodsy hops, clean; dry with gentle bitterness and a pleasant, if somewhat light finish.

Not bad at all.

Poured from a can. Clear light brown color, no real head. Musky malt aroma. Light body with a medium malt flavor and a light finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at brewery. Slightly creamy bread crust aroma that is a bit weak. Crisp nutty malt flavour with some bread crust and moderate bitterness to balance the sweetness of the specialty malt. Medium light body, medium carbonation.

Clear brownish colour with a dense head that dissipates quickly. Pretty hoppy and earthy.

Interesting brewery, but this particular beer, not so much. Not that thereís much you could do with the style. Itís a decent example, I suppose.

473 ml can from the brewery. Pours an opaque amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is bread, caramel. Taste is pretty much the same. Not bad, but nothing exceptional either.
