Session Sunday at Bar Hop. $5 pints of select brews. Thist altbier by Sawdust City is balanced and flavourful, and sessionable.

On tap @ Gig’s - taps a lightly hazed copper-orange with a puffy lasting off white cap. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is robust with Munich red malts - toasty and noble hopping, some light fruitiness. Medium bodied creamy mouth feel, smooth malt accented character. Flavor is fairly well balanced between toasty-bready malts and herbal woody hops - long dry bittersweet nutty malty finish with a hop bite. If I closed my eyes I’d think I was drinking a fresh Dusseldorf Alt. I enjoy this lagered amber ale and it is probably the best Albier we have had in this market since the Duckstein supply dried up.

Enjoyed at the National Capital Craft Beer Week. Pours a clean copper colour with a white head. Grainy malt nose with fresh hops that give out fruity notes. Nice slight dry finish. Again, fruity and cereal malt flavours. A nice grainy pale ale and good for this style.

The roasted nuttiness of this beer is pretty appealing, though the aroma is a bit off. A little acidic. A good session as its pretty drinkable. Sweet with a medium body.

I tried this beer on December 16, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red with a thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma consisted of some sweet malt, citrus hints, and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was a decent balkance between the sweetness of the malt, and the mild grapefruity tasting hops. The hoppiest altbier I’ve ever had.

2011-12-15. Crisp brown body, nice beige head and lace. 3+ Pleasantly malt lightly toasty malt, very light tang to it. Aroma is similar, very slightly nutted touched in the aroma and flavour. Pretty nice, malt forward take on the style. Smooth average plus bodied palate. Definitely one for a session, I didn’t love it at first but the malt develops as you go and I ended up ordering another. I haven’t had enough Alts to comment on authenticity, but it was enjoyable. Draught at Burger Bar. Dec. 21, 2011. Pours a clear deep copper-gold with a small diminishing frothy off-white head. Mild, slightly sweet aroma of grain, caramel malt and spices. Flavour’s a nice surprise as I’m not a huge fan of the style, with lightly toasted caramel malt, grain, fruit and a decent bitter finish -- just a touch watery but not enough to detract. Average bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

Solid bready, biscuity malts, with some nice grassy hops. Great mouth feel, solid dry bitter finish.

On tap at Burger Bar. Appearance: copper red, small white bubbly head. Aroma: quite grainy, spice, moderate yeast and quite nicely hopped. Flavour: lots of grain, a little spice, quite hoppy and sweet, there’s a little vanilla in there, long sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2012 On tap, pours a nice amber with a soft lacy head. Aroma carries elements if toast, roasted nuts, biscuit and even a earthiness. On the palate very crisp, clean tasting with a bit of nuttiness. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
