My favourite of the selection at C’est What tap takeover. The cayenne pepper and some roast draws one in. Starts with the cayenne, finishes with coffee. Dark brown. No head. Very good drinkability.Smooth mouthfeel.

Can bought at an LCBO in Toronto/Canada. Dark almost pitch black color with a solid and stable beige head. Aroma is fantastic! Coffee, roasted malt, espresso, spices in the back. And now the taste. The cayenne spice is awesome! Coffee, roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate very well balanced with the cayenne spice. Just like a guiness with frank’s red hot haha. Anyway, a great spiced beer!

Disapointed with this one a bit. :( some bitterness, a lot of cayenne pepper smell and at times a little coffee and chocolate. Taste the beer drys out right away and is kinda bitter with lots of cayenne. The cayenne is a bit much and not done in a good way.

Pours black with a thin beige/brown head. Aroma is spicy, coffee, roasty malts and a bit sweet. Mild malty sweetness with a roasty bitter finish with some pepper spice. Medium body & carbonation.

Tall boy from LCBO. Pours a deep black with a touch of chocolate brown around the edges, and a thin brown bubbly head on top. Aroma is enticing and complex, with a decent roast malt backbone followed by a bittersweet chocolate and coffee combination. Taste is initial full malt sweetness, followed by a shortlived burnt malt bitterness, roasted coffee and then finishing on a decent chilli heat. Body is lovely and full, with a prickly but even mouthfeel and a lingering spicy finish that turns to a nice light coffee flavour. Quite an exceptional beer, actually.

Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is spicy, roasted malts and coffee. Taste is much the same, rich coffee and roasted malts up front and then the hot spice sets in and warms the mouth. Just not really my thing.

Pours a dark, dark brown with a one finger tan head. Mostly dark coffee up front on the nose with mineral notes, roasty malt, a light citrusy fruit note and light cocoa powder. As for taste, dryer than I was expecting and forward with the roasty malt notes, some serious heat, and molasses that leads into even more dark toasty malt notes, dark coffee, light ash and MORE heat in the finish. I had this on tap previously and enjoyed it. This batch however seems to have gone a little overboard with the cayenne. It just overpowers everything else that deserves some of the spotlight too. By no means is it bad, but I can’t see myself buying it again.

2015/01/10 - Pours a dark brown cola colour with a thin, fizzy, khaki head that quickly disappears. No lacing. Aroma is vanilla, roasted coffee, toasted toffee malt light hops and bitter cocoa. Taste is roasted coffe, bitter cocoa with smokey tones vegetal hops and a spicy chili finish. Mouthfeel is light and a tad watery, with average carbonation and a spicy, bitter finish. Not bad.

Cask. Sweet toffee and caramel aroma with low levels of minty and very faintly pine hops. Hazy, ruddy dark brown under bubbly, off white collar. Sweet slightly burnt coffee up front, quickly followed by a jalapeno pepper bite and vegetal character. Low bitterness, faint minty woody hops (northern brewer?). Medium light body. Low carbonation. Lingering spiciness.
