On tap at 2014 Ottawa Winterbrewed. Black with a creamy brown head. Roasted malts and oatmeal, as it warms up you get more chocolate and a hint of coffee grinds. Moderate+ carbonation, moderate body and bitterness, easy to drink, decent.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Wren on Danforth. A slightly thin-bodied stout with a delicious aroma, and a nice chocolaty flavour with hints of coffee. Mildly carbonated, it just doesn’t feel like a stout in your mouth (hence the "skinny dipping" name?). Aside from that, another solid entry.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
serviceable stout that finishes a little thin. On tap at Volo. Passable, with a touch of anise, cayenne not noticed. Roast aroma draws one in.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
All kinds of surprises here. Aroma has cinnamon from initial smell. Also nut and light malt. Tastes bitter with light sourness. This is nose heavy and promises a lot with initial aroma but doesn’t quite follow through. Pours dark with medium lacing. Mid to high carbonation. On tap at Bar Hop.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 ml bottle. Deep brown black pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is a little bit roasty and slightly cocoaish but with a more coffeeish note than many stouts have. Softly berryish sweetness underlying the brew and there is a cola-like flavour as well. Light bodied and dry with a little bit of a roasty/dusty character that is a little bit distracting. Okay - but kind of pedestrian.
