Looks great. Super dark black pour with a brown head. Very welcoming earthy smell. Whoa what a mix of flavours. Thick breads stout at first. Then some cinnamon burn which is quickly put down by a vanilla finish. What an odd mix, that actually works really well together. Rather dig this and very glad I got a chance to try. It. Also happy I have two more in the fridge.

2013-02-10. Very dark brown black body, small tan head. Flavour is interesting, light dry roast blends with cinnamon in an interesting way, long lingering cinnamon in the finish. 7+ Pleasant aroma of cinnamon, dry roast, modestly malty. Average plus bodied palate. Solid, enjoyable. Bottle at Rhino Winter Festival, Toronto

On tap - deep opaque black with a rich chocolate head. Aroma is pure ambrosia - roasyness (cocoa-coffee) over spicey funky ale notes. Mouth feel is tad thin for th style but the robust flavour makes up for it. Flavour is rich in roasy malts with cocoa-coffe notes, cinnamon spicyness, a nice hop bittering decsernment which compliments the roasty astrignence. Finish is fat and roasty. A great spiced stout.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blankboy (5153) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2013
Bottle [341ml] at Thirsty & Miserable. Pours black with a large long-lasting frothy light-brown head. Aroma of light spices, caramel malt, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Flavour of spice, caramel malt, coffee, lots of cinnamon and some chocolate. Slightly astringent finish. Medium bodied. Maybe a bit too much cinnamon in the flavour but it’s still pretty good.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GuillaumeCL (312) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 27, 2013
Bottle from the beer club. Pours an opaque black with just a ring of tan head. Smell is a whole lot of chocolate and some cinnamon. Palate is on the thicker side of medium bodied with a bit of carbonation. Taste is slightly malty sweet at first then has a strong spicy cinnamon taste and has a moderately long spicy and sweet aftertaste. Very nice, I’m really enjoying it.

On tap at Volo
Aroma smoky with soy sauce, molasses , roasted barley, hint of chocolate. 6+
Appearance dark brown, light tanned top. Presentable. 4-.
Flavor and Palate : front rather watery, thin yet overall with good feel. Decent dark depth. Rather faint hop accents on sides. Interesting but felt washed out.

On tap at The Rhino festival. Black coloured body, with Stout and Cinnamon. This is a cinammabomb. Understated mouthfeel, certainly not a oatmeal, more of a black lager. The Cinnamon works, though. So-so drinkability.

The friends bring the party with this beer. Well-balanced mix. And yes, thats my word of the month. Aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, roast malt. Taste bitter and sour. A little below average carbonation. Good package. I feel the oats as well. Tap at Rhino winterfest.

Tap at Bar Hop Bar. Deep black pour with an espresso coloured lacing. The nose is quite spicy - cinnamon and coffee with a little bit of light chocolate. There is a bit of nutmeg spice as well. Sort of astringent though - enough roast to balance the sweetness but the spiciness takes it up into astringent a bit. Medium palate but fairly assertive bitterness. It's a bit of a miss for me.

On tap. Dark and fizzy, looks like a glass of coke. I make hot chocolate with cayenne and cinnamon that smells almost exactly the same as this beer, which isn’t a bad thing. This was a fine stout to begin with. The spices really pop, possibly too much. I like it but I’m only having one. Try it if you see it.
