On tap at the Only Cafe. Pours a cloudy golden colour with smallish white head. Aroma is fruity, funky Belgian yeast with fruit and wheat. Flavour is also dominated by the fruity and funky yeast with sourish fruit, wheat and some spicy notes. Alcohol pretty subtle. Fine carbonation. Nice.

Enjoyed at the National Capital Craft Beer Week. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a frothy white head and some dirty lacing. Sour and vinegar nose with some light fruits. Smooth, and no alcohol burn. Wet mouthfeel and medium-bodied. Wow ! Very well-blended between a sour ale and a fruity Belgian one. Quite interesting and very easy to drink for such a strong brew.

On Tap@the Bent Elbow - Shimmering hazed gold with a tight creamy cap that lasts and laces. Floral aroma with hints of citrus. berry, spice and a light fusel tone. Round mouthfeel medium body well finished ale. The front side of this ale’s profile has wonderful fruitiness mingling with sweetish pale malts, Hops play a support role but then come on in the middle and finish which is dry, fruity and lightly bitter with a sweet bready kiss at the end - a very easy drinking Belgian that definitely benefited from the barrel

2013-07-31. Hazy bright pastel orange body and modest off-white head. 3++ Aroma is moderate, pale malt, light fruit and white wine like vinous character. Flavour is dry and woody on first sip and fairly bitter. It has more wood character than I normally like but here it blends really well with the fruity bitterness. Bit of a white wine like undertones in the finish. Wood fades a little with each sip, adding to the drinkability. 7++ Average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. On tap at BarHop, Toronto

This is really nice. Barrel adds a great aroma and comes on a little heavy, or perhaps it’s the other elements that just aren’t super strong. Belgian floral hops, some sweet malt. Pours cloudy golden with decent head and lacing. Very nice palate and leave. Some bitterness and a touch of tang that comes together well. Soft carbonation. Tap at Barhop.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2014 [4816-20120922] Tap. Fruity blueberry juicy aroma has some fragrant floral yeast notes. Slightly hazy, light brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Fruity blueberry yeast flavour has a metallic floral tang on the finish. Medium body. interesting to sample but not really a fan of the wine infusion. (5/3+/5/3/10) 2.6

[5616B-20130731] Tap. Citrus skin hops and dusty wood aroma. Hazy, pale orange body with a quick foamy white head. Bittersweet iced tea and light fruitiness in the flavour. Medium body. Not like the first time I had this, that’s for sure! (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

September 22, 2012 - The Golden Tap Awards at Beer Bistro. Draught. Hazy pale yellow/gold with a smallish frothy/creamy off-white head. Aroma is ... sweet and sour; wild yeast (Orval-ish-y), dry wildflowers, lemon and persimmon tartness - oddly balanced (7+). Taste follows, but a lot of what seems green oak resin - quite dry and almost harsh (7-). Thick, acidic, mild carbonation, finishes very dry and woody (and a bit boozy) - the acidity, bitterness and malt all fade quickly, leaving pungent resin bitterness - even a tad lactic at points. Weird one.

From a bomber, pours a lovely gold with a frothy soft white head. Beautiful aroma of oak/wood, lemon, vanilla & a hint of blueberry. On the palate, what a taste, creamy, full bodied for a golden ale. Exceptional.
