3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DuffMan (4242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 19, 2009
Bomber, purchased at the brewery. Slightly hazy orange-tinted gold. Spicy banana and yeast aroma. Slightly estery, moderately sweet palate with caramelized banana and spices as the dominant flavours. Sweet but drinkable, and faithful to the style. Another well-crafted Stone brew.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 golubj (1373) - San Mateo, California, USA - JAN 18, 2009
Bottle, thanks to alexanderj. Blond amber pour, clearish with a little white head. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, chalk, and some spices. Flavor is the same, bubblegum is dominant and somewhat chewy seeming. Pretty sweet beer.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tripplebrew (714) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 15, 2009
Pours a copper caramel with cream-colored head. Pours a spicy caramel with brown sugar. A combination of banana and clove with bubble gum. Palate is creamy that lightens the levels of carbonation.

Thanks Walt for sending me this beer. Pours a hazy gold with an almost non existent head. Aroma of coriander, banana, and bubblegum. Sweet flavor, some fruit. A well done triple. I really like the bottle and everything this beer stands for though. I’m glad Stone is doing some for charity like this.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BrotherGrendel (777) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 11, 2009
On draft at the 2008 Stone Winter Storm
Appearance is a murky golden hue, thin off-white head dissipates quickly, minimal lacing
Smell is dark fruits (raisins, cherries), honey, citrus, thick caramel malts, rather subtle for a Tripel
Taste is big raisins up front, followed by brown sugar and molasses, some sweet honey, finishes sweet and slightly dry
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, thick chewy texture, highly carbonated
Drinkability is good, this is a pretty solid Tripel that loses some points on the weak aromas, but is otherwise decent, this has held up well over time (I think it was brewed in 2004?), definitely worth trying once, especially since proceeds go to charity
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sauceyhops (104) - carlsbad, California, USA - JAN 9, 2009
22 oz bottle. Pours a solid amber with a respectable 1 finger head. Aroma of sweet caramel and malts. The flavor is mainly of malts with hints of caramel and hints of spice. I’m not a huge fan of belgian triples so it wasn’t too much of a surprise that I wasn’t in love with this one.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR) Pours a clear golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of coriander, ginger, pears, yeast, and toasted grain. Flavor of yeast, coriander, florals, lemon zest, and light clove. Thanks Andrew!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 arrogantb (899) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 4, 2009
22oz bottle thanks to mashmaster, nice golden orange clear color, decent head, decent lacing. Smells like a fruity tripel. The taste is subtle but nice spice, fruit flavors, usual tripel profile. I was actually surprised to like this as much as I did but it was good and the lower (for a tripel) ABV was welcome.
