Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

A bottle thats been in my Fridge for a long time, this is my last week in The US, so I decided to treat myself..ok, I just have to make room and dispose of many of my favorite things....Damn.. Golden pour, slight head, very mellow, some slight tingle on the tongue, Slight alcohol, very quaffalble, but its abit past its prime, still good and drinkable though.

Golden-yellow in colour, thin white coloured head, some lacing. The aroma is of apples, pears, peaches, floral hops, very light yeast. The flavour is quite fruity (lots of apples and pears), some alcohol, floral, some toasted malts, some yeast and lemon citrus. Mildly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a lingering fruit sweetness, some spice and alcohol. This wasn’t as citrusy as I expected it to be, soft with only some warmth. So far none of the Belgians that Stone makes are really standing out for me.

650ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>JohnC, thanks John.

Bright yellow pour, just a touch of fat bubbles that form a ring around the edge of the glass. Slightly hazy. Aroma is very sweet and fruity, with notes of pears, apricots, lemons, oranges and candy sugar. Alcohol is subtle. The flavor is standard but decent. Very sweet with touches of alcoholic bitterness and mildly toasty grains. Alcohol isn’t noticeable in the flavor. The finish is sweet, dusty and lightly tart, with lingering acidity and apricot notes. Mouthfeel is very smooth, lightly carbonated, lightly syrupy and not very warming.

Bottle. 2003 vintage. Pours a cloudy gold-orange body with a soapy white head. Fruity aroma - pear, banana, peach, pineapple, other tropical stuff, some hops. Sweet flavour with noticeable abrasive alcohol. Caramel and faint spiciness.
Thanks for the opportunity, radiomgb. Sampled on April 21, 2007.
