| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Excellent and weird aroma of wood and cloves. Unlike any aroma I have smelled. Nice smooth tripel. Not exceedingly alcoholy. Mild with a small amount of hops. Papsoe (14904), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Bottle 65 cl. Pours an almost clear deep golden with an off-white head. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, fruit - banana in particular - and other exotic fruits. A little phenols in the finish. 100709 yemenmocha (354), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Purchased from brewery gift shop. Pours radiant light amber to honey golden with white head that retains well. Nose is the best feature with delightful floral, esters, angel foodcake and birthday cake icing. Palate brings forth the candy sugar with a good amount of banana and alcohol warmth towards the end. Rather assertive, as I expected it to be, but not one of the best Tripels I’ve had. zizzybalubba (362), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2009 22 oz. bottle shared by LooseCannon at Immy’s Backyard Throwdown. This sounds like a lazy review and in some ways it is. But it’s a tripel. As long as it’s a good tripel I don’t have much exciting to say about it. This is a good, solid tripel. Nothing more, nothing less. I liked it. Allstar (30), , Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Strong aroma of citrus when poured. Had a taste of fruit at the front, then a slight bitter finish. daleharshman (188), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2009 22 ounce bottle from brewery ($6.00). Pours a cloudy amber-apricot color with a brief white-ish head that quickly disappears altogether. Aroma of Belgian yeast (a big surprise when you remember this is from Stone), sweet grains, hints of various fruits (banana, lemon, apple) and spices. Taste is very sweet right away with flavors of banana, bubble gum, light yeast, and a hint of spice. The hops eventually become noticeable and the finish is well-balanced, being neither too sweet nor too bitter. Alcohol is not detectable -- but then at 7.6%, this is a rather "light" tripel. This is the one Stone beer that falls quite firmly into the Belgian category (surprised that Stone did not hop this up a bit more as they have done in some of their "Belgian" hybrids). Altogether, a good tripel and for a good cause. crowderm (277), Recklinghausen, Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Clear golden pour with no head. Aroma of bubble gum, mild citrus, melon and mild spice. Flavor is pretty similar, though the melon comes through a little more prominently than in the aroma. Very clean mouthfeel. Somewhat strange dry pilsner-like finish, but this actually works pretty well once you get used to it. A good, refreshing brew but not really an outstanding tripel. Bhops (332), Dallas, Texas, USA
