fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 20, 2009 Bottle pours clear dark golden color with white head. Aromas are typical yeast, floral, belgian, and spice. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is heavy on the yeast, clove, white pepper, orange peel, banana, and finishes dry. Overall a solid brew. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 17, 2009 Bottle: Clear gold color. Classic Belgian - tons of yeast and way too banana-ee for my palate. It’s probably a good representation of the style, but not my cup of tea. Wait? Ummm. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 15, 2009 Bottle, courtesy markwise. Clear yellowish bronze pour, thick lacing and smooth soft white head. Funky nose, some spicy notes, honey. Flavor has a dry yeasty slight funk, with some orange peel and spicy elements. Smooth and drinkable, kind of a saisony-tripel thing. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Mar 15, 2009 Bottle: Pale golden pour with a nice beige head. Nose is light and fruity. Some Belgian spices with a little yeast and some breadiness. Well balanced. Flavor is rather rich in fruity and spicey notes. Light yeast. A bit of cloves stands out. Cidery notes and a light vinous fruit element. Smooth. Thanks Toby. bvc (228), Kenmore, Washington, USA Mar 14, 2009 22oz bomber shared by riversideAK. Pours a clear golden yellow with easy white head. Nose is of candy sugar, apple, some earthy grassy notes and hints of banana. Body is a little on the thin side and this is just a straight forward triple. As I sip on this, I start thinking about the 080808 and the Cali-Belgique and pick up some similarities in the 3. Would have been fun to crack all 3 at the same time. Thanks Alex. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 14, 2009 22. Thanks, Riverside! Crystal clear bright dark gold. Very thin filmy head. Big green apple, toffee, and dust nose, joined by a bit of banana. Very much the classic tripel, other than the hefeweisen intruder. Crisp, sparkling body. Green apple, toffee, dust, and lots of banana on the mid-palate. The banana is a weird addition. Mild sweet finish. fidel (887), Livermore, California, USA Mar 12, 2009 Poured golden orange, apricots, orange, spicy, bready, hoppy, malty, yeasty, little caramel. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Mar 9, 2009 Bottle from trade with dalion037. Pours clear gold with a nice white head. Nose is orange, sweet lemon, some grapefruity funk, booze, vinegar, and some interesting sweetness. Flavor is vinergary citrus- orange, apricots, an almost berry sweetness, and nice citrusy sweet malt. Very nice blend of flavors.
