Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

Bottle from trade with dalion037. Pours clear gold with a nice white head. Nose is orange, sweet lemon, some grapefruity funk, booze, vinegar, and some interesting sweetness. Flavor is vinergary citrus- orange, apricots, an almost berry sweetness, and nice citrusy sweet malt. Very nice blend of flavors.

Big thanks to markwise for bringing this to the weekly tasting. This beer has eluded me going back to its initial release. Pours clear gold with thin white head. The aroma is perfumy, lemony then sweetness and various spice notes join the fun. I’m also getting notes of berries and faint cardboard with additional draws. The taste begins with a wave of sugar sweetness then mild lemon tart notes surface to go along with hints of apple, coriander, raisins and a touch of pepper. Very nice.

Aroma of sweet toffee and banana. Appearance is golden with a frothy white head that fades quickly. Flavor is fairly mellow - somewhat spicy and smooth with a strong Belgian yeast presence. Smooth smooth.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is fruit and alcohol. Taste is a fruit and yet also dirty socks. Not overly impressed by this beer.

Bottle (thanks reakt). Sweetish and alcoholic, with less finesse than its Belgian counterparts. This has some slightly estery citrusy fruit characters, with some noticeable alcohol. I prefer Stones hoppier anglo styles more.

Thanks to ghawener. Drank it at El Flor for New Years Eve. Nice brew from Stone. This tripel is well balanced with the classic hoppiness of American brews.

Pours a crystal clear light gold with a small head. Aroma of malt, cloves, and a little banana. Lightly spiced malt flavors and has a smooth almost buttery finish. Very nice brew.
