Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, minor head. Aroma is toffee, fruits, mild roast as well as some toasted and liquorice notes. Flavour is fruity, roasted, mildly leathery and nutty. Also some mild smoked wooden notes.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 8/7/2013. Opaque black with a slight tan head. Plain chocolate and roasted malts, a suggestion of liquorice and dryish, toasty finish. Very good.

Cask (handpump) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.
Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dry, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’13. Black with cream head. Good richly roasted malt flavour, some charcoal hint with coffee and chocolate, although woody and a hint of smokiness. Bitter, earthy with a touch of fruitiness later on. Pretty decent stout.

Pint at Washington Arts Centre. Black with a dense off-white head. Roasty nutty aroma, deep leathery licquorice flavour.Slightly sour in a good way. Ashy, like a dry stout.. Slick and creamy palate.
