3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at Discretion. Pours deep ruby black with a medium creamy beige head that dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, ashes, and chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, coffee, mocha actually, ashes. Lighish body, low carbonation, bit of acidity. Pretty nice effort.

Glass at the brewery. Pours black, slight head. Taste is roast and dark, clean finish. Well crafted, not quite like some of the export stouts.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with red hues.
Charcoal nose with old coffee. Has a root beer floor sasparilla and vanilla but the charcoal burnt oak totally detracts from the sweetness. Roast carries on for a while

Sample at the brewpub, right before the keg blew...wanted more, but they tell me I will need to wait till next year. Dark brown with medium tan head. Awesome nose, roasty, malty, chocolate. Smooth taste, quite nice.
