An impressive pour as a huge, off-white head towered stiffly beyond the brim of my Weizen glass & remained thick and foamy atop an opaque yet carbonated sandy-orange body. Banana
yeastiness over Ovaltine maltiness suggests that this would be nice for breakfast! Phenolic Band-Aid notes detract, but roasted notes emerge late bringing it back up to par. Creamy and full bodied with a grapeskin finish. Malty flavor with a spicy lift of carbonation and mild, milky sourness... but the base is fruity plantains. As mentioned, the finish is a little chalky and astringent which prevents the flavor from lingering. In all, a very nice Hefeweizen.

Not only my 1100th rating, but my 100th German bier and my 100th wheat style!

Geiserich (1555), Vienna, Austria Oct 27, 2008 Draught: Sourly aroma, cidre, lemon and citrus peels. Extrem hazy, pale yellow color. Huge foamy head. Flavor is fresh, light yeasty with notes of oranges and cloves. Round and refreshing. Bit empthy finish. Nice wheat with empthy finish and too sourly flavor. joet (1635), Fulton, California, USA Jun 10, 2008 A lively golden cloudy liquid with an ample head. Considerable yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Very effervescent with some clove in the fairly faint aroma. Some fine particulate feel.
beerguy101 (3544), Newark, California, USA Apr 30, 2008 This German Hefeweizen pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from a 50cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, long lasting with excellent retention. The aroma is grassy and fruity with some banana and clove. A medium bodied Hefeweizen. The malts are fruit and sweet. A touch of grain and some banana and clove flavor. The hops are mild and earthy. Nice balance. Excellent carbonation, with lots of small effervescent bubbles. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. dm9831 (706), Monee, USA Mar 17, 2008 pours hazy amber with a huge off-white head (my glass overflowed twice, mostly because i can’t remember what happens from second to second unless i write it down...and it’s still dicey even then), disipates rather quickly to a thin kinda lacy head. aroma slightly sweet, mildly spicy, peppery. flavor of mostly bananas. slightly oily mouth feel, medium bodied. inoffensive, butnothing exciting.

Bananic-weisse aroma with mild grainy sourness, some unclean glue note here too. Crispy palate, medium carbonated. Glue also in flavor, aftertaste has some banana and yeast. Had better weisses.
