Not in the same leaugue as Blatz, but I would drink this stuff, if I could find it anwhere. The folks that used to partake of Schaefer’s with me called it "The Scraper". Presumably, because in the morning you would have to scrape the back side of your legs, from all the Schaefer residue there!
The beer snobs may not like it. But I do. And I like beer! zach8270 (2085), Henrietta, New York, USA

Smells like a tongue depresser mixed with grains and hops. Taste is very dry and wooden. Bitter finish. Thank god for my Grandpa Joe. He helped contribute to the demise of this big one. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Light gold colour. Fairly fresh grainy aroma with light fusel notes. Lots of fusel notes on the palate, though. Otherwise a little grainy, watery. Fairly plain, inoffensive, sweetish corn lager. Fun to try, if for no other reason than to say I did. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jan 10, 2006 12 oz. can. "Schaefer, is the, one beer to have, when you’re having more than one..." Sadly, another old-time local brewer down the drain. The beer brewed today has no particular aroma, is star yellow with a fizzy white head, and tastes like corn cereal. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
