Appearance: Poured into a .5L willy becker. .5 inch quickly receding white head atop a clear tan-yellow body with tiny and lively bubbles.
Nose: Ah, sweet corn. Smells like oxidize wheat beer, if that makes any sense. I presume this is a lager?
Palate: Sharp entry with light carbonation and medium- to light-body. There’s some sweetness to it, but it’s kept in check by that crisp sharpness. Light biscuit and corn-on-the-cob, with a hint of hop bitterness on the finish (which is short and unpleasant).
Notes: Not a great beer, I gotta say, but not far off from BMC. I’d actually rather drink this than any of the Big Three because there’s less offensive flavors here than in any of the others.

Malts are a touch too juicy to be properly refreshing here. Overall not bad. dkachur (2355), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Taste is generic grain with a bit of corn. Thin and watery. GodOfThunder (864), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2009 This was my father’s beer of choice when I was a child. I drank this stuff when I was 9 years old. It seemed so much cooler back then. It pours a typical pale lager yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is phenolic and full of grain. It is actually a fairly strong aroma. Flavor isn’t too bad. I would drink this before Bud Light or Natty Light or some of the others. I would still put the High Life first, but Schaefer isn’t a bad choice when going for quantity over quality.
