The current version, one of the Pabst family is essentially unchanged. Color is medium pale, flavor of hops with a nice yeasty overtone, Nice crisp finish. Very good with food. Nice to have Pabst keep this beer alive for us. j123fs (1), USA does not count | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/20 | Apr 28, 2003 Hey,
I'm a beer snob too..I brew my own and drink lotsa fancy stuff...But, this stuff isn't half bad..as long as it's real cold, it actually has some flavor, you CAN taste the hops unlike most cheap stuff, maybe a bit too much rice though...for a case of bar bottles at 15 bucks it tough to beat for the less "enlighted" of us drinkers....and this is coming from a guy dosn't have a issue with spending 8~9 bucks for a friday night six pack for the weekend.
Nuff said...go swill and enjoy! Frank (1066), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Strong cereal aroma with some sweet notes and a hint of cut hay. Light to medium bodied. Crisp with a dry, hoppy finish. I'm a bit suspect of some of these ratings. Anyone who's really tasted Schaefer knows that it is not the least bit watery or light on flavor. I have a feeling a lot of them are from people half remembering the beer from the one time they drank it 10 years ago. TheBeerGenius (153), Erie/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

I was with my friend Paul, and Paul loves cheap beer. He's had almost every cheap beer known to man. When I showed Paul what I found he had to have it. So we went home with a 30 pack of Schaefer and a case of Shiner Bock. The next day Paul and I went golfing and we brought our trusty Schaefer along. He handed me a can and I cracked it open. I took a big chug and I was refreshed. Ahhhhhh!!!! Schaefer. Please hand me another! I want a bad headache. Yes. Schaefer is watery swill, but it's not bad. On your first sip you can actually taste hops. That's more than I can say about any Coors beer. OriginalCheeser (32), USA
