Just tried the "new" old Schaefer. I’ve experienced this beer over its transient history rooted in the real brooklyn brew (albeit the one in the 70’s). This latest version is not bad, not as hoppy and sharp as the Strohs days, but less distinct as the NY days. Drinkable, light kind of bland, and still cheap. I’ve tasted much, much worse.

Tin. Flat watery lager with a bit of maize aroma. Beerlike flavour without being beer. This is what my brewer friends call a malt soup. It’s usually cheap, but you can find something better you can afford.

Man .... I remember this beer with fond memories. Well, I remember it was cheap. I also remember it had clear adjunct flavor, but was a better beer than most BMC products. This was before it went to Stroh’s-Pabst-Miller. I haven’t had it recently, I imagine it will be as bad as normal Miller products.

Couldnt resist sampling a piece of history for $1.70/40 oz...pours clear yellow with oily, soapy head. Aroma is light corn and corn syrup. Flavor is about the same. No cloying aftertaste like some cheapo macros. Could be worse for the price.

Can. Another beer that haunts me from my past. This is in the top 5 for worst beers I have ever tasted. Absolutely no redeeming value exceot possibly recycling the packaging.

America’s oldest Lager! 10oz can, P.R. label. This is "hot shit" in Puerto Rico! Clear, bright yellow color. White fizzy head. Aroma of Sweet malt and Sweet flaoral aromas... Flavor of sweet malt and corn flakes. Light balanced hop finish. Very light bodied. Overall very light and refreshing lager. 29 oct 07

12 ounce bottle. First time I visited Puerto Rico in 1979 this was the top seller in the island and continued well into the 1980’s

12oz can-pours a diminishing white head with yellow/pale yellow color. Aroma is grain, husky. Taste follows with a nice light/spicy hop backbone. Crisp. Good carbonation.
