Schaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one. Schaefer pleasure doesn’t fade even when your thirst is done. The most rewarding flavor in this mans world for people who are having fun. It is the ideal weekend companion when hanging drywall with one of your buddies. adamcbowman (57), Bowling Green, Ohio, USA

Surprisingly one of the best beers you can buy for only 5 bucks for a twelver. You won’t be able to find it in your local tavern, but keep you eye out at your local grocery store. One of my top five best beers. Beer Guy99 (250), Maineville, Ohio, USA

Light, yes - but that’s the kind of beer this is. I find it much better and flavorful than the big boys out of St. Louis or Milwaukee. Schaefer has a nice balance of malt and hops, some grainy flavors from the adjunct corn and/or rice grains, but still not as bland as Bud or Miller products. Shaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one! For thos of you who still think the quality of a beer has anything to do with price, I wish you would do a blind taste test between Schaefer and the bland Bud you’re now drinking. I guarantee you’ll prefer the Schaefer. Keep an open mind to cheaper brands like Schaefer, you’re likely to find a diamond in the rough. When you think of an American lager this is a classic. It’s cheap, my friends, because it’s not advertised - I can’t remember seeing an ad for this in 25 or more years.. It’s a great session beer in my experience. Put some Shaefer on ice, get it really cold and suck it down on a hot summer day... NextBestThing (22), Westtown, New York, USA

Schaefer is not horrible, and it’s better than quite a few craft beers and a lot of the pretentious garbage that Sam Adams is pumping out, except of course for Sam’s White Ale which is yummy.
Schaefer is the kind of beer you can get a twelver of for 4 bucks, and you can drink every last one of them over the course of an MLB game and feel none the worse for wear. Beat that. cw95 (1), Queens, New York, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Aug 17, 2007 Schaefer is all you need on a summer afternoon when you’re grilling some burgers and dogs in the back yard. It’s nothing fancy. But as far as a regular cheap beer in a can goes, its better than Bud, Coors, and Miller. Here’s to the 12-pack attack.
