Fresh draught, just released. Deep orange with a creamy, rocky head. Light bitterness to medium, bready with noble grain, really intensely flavorful for a Märzen, dry with good hop bite, too. Very full body with some grass-hay and even a hint of fruit (yeast?). Very good, very promising.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heavy (1954) - Split, CROATIA - MAR 28, 2010
07/03 Draught at the brewpub. It poured hazy reddish copper body with medium sized head that stood for very long time. Sweet caramel aroma mildly hopped with some herbal stuff, pretty expected for a marzen. Sweetish flavor, carame, toffee and wood malts, but only little bit of herbal hops. Medium to even fuller body with long sweetish finish. Pleasant, but more like a dunkel, too malty misses better hop balance. Anyway, glad we’ve caught it here!

The last of the keg at Schalander. Pours amber in color with a fluffy beige head that leaves plenty of lacing. Smells and tastes predominantly of malt and not much else. Fairly basic.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marko (3612) - Split, CROATIA - MAR 12, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Quite lucky that we ran into this, especially considering the ones we missed at some other pubs. Poured a hazy, misty.red colour. Thick, slightly off white head that stuck around for awhile. Light dusty nose, sweet maltiness. The taste is dominated by a nice woody maltiness, slightly orangey and dry. Balanced and tasty but hardly impressive in comparison with some. Still, well worth trying.
