On tap at the brewpub. Black colour with a red hue, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, ash, coffee beans, tar, quite sweet. Flavour of hard roasted malts, coffee, medium sweet, toffee, light ashy. Light-bodied, slightly over-carbonated, but quite tasty, almost stout-like.

The head is robust, the body almost black. It smells coffee and malty. The taste is creamy, coffee, aromatic. In the beginning a bit roasty-sour, nice! Very tasty! 12/13/12/12/-/12

Draft @ brewpub. Beautiful deep burgundy, a very dark and rich hue. Enticing and the loveliest looking of all the house beers. Lovely malt aroma. Not as fruity as expected but in a good way, more toasty malts, which are similar in character to the house dunkles. Nice carbonation level and quaffable palate. Excellent body. Smooth flavors. Not too much of anything. Finishes dry but has excellent malt flavors. Balanced, great.

On tap at the brewpub. Full of lovely malt flavour, bread, some dark fruit. On the sweet side, but there is a discreet bitterness in the finish.
