Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle, thanks to deeblo. Bit of a gusher. It pours opaque very dark brown, with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, toast and a touch of spice. The taste is tangy dark fruit, particularly cherry and blueberry, roasted malt, charcoal, toast, chocolate and earth, with a very dry, lightly tangy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps slightly infected? Still not a bad tasting beer.

Leighton (7179) - London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle at THE Eclipse Tasting, London. Many thanks to Bruce for producing this nightcap. After a meaningful gush from the bottle, this beer poured black-brown with a big, beige cream head. Odd nose, lots of dark malts, some decent tang that suggests something is amiss. Medium sweet flavor with moderate roast, light runner, light herbal character. Medium to full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Fairly sweet finish, some dirt, burnt sugars, light tang, moderate earth. So so. Interesting stuff, and I fear this beer show us its full potential.

Bottle @ THE Eclipse Tasting. Somehow this sneaked into the lineup! Cheers, Bruce! The pour’s deep brown, mild gusher. The nose is light vomit, some chocolate sauce, hints of wood. The taste is tangy vinous red berries, chocolate sauce. Mild yeast and buggy funk. The body’s medium, the carbonation active. Overall, not bad.

bierkoning (9033) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - AUG 16, 2012
Bottle from Borresteijn, thanks! Almost black. Roast, ash, smoke, licorice and dark chocolate in the aroma. Thinnish, alcoholic, roasty flavor with dark chocolate, licorice and ash. Hints of smoked malt and tobacco. Fairly complex, but I expected more body.
