sampled both on tap and bottled in nuremberg and in decent shape on both occasions. quite a hazy rich yellow with a shaving cream head; aroma of passionfruit pip, toffee apple; quite grassy with a good hit of bitterness and unexpected tropical fruit. handy stuff

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2014 Aug 6 2014 bottle date, 10 days old. Unfiltered lightly hazed pale gold with a short white head.
Difficult aroma of biscuit malt and green / herbal hops which creep towards toothpaste territory. Medium-light body, frothy with a filling burst of carbonation. Crisp and savory in the mouth with a silty and rough yeast character. Stronger hop character and greater bitterness than anything calling itself Hell - this is Kellerbier.

Bottle: Very pale golden coloured, small stable and lacy white head, lively carbonation; dryish grainy and citrussy-hoppy nose with a certain yeasty fruitiness; quite dry bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and pretty soft; spicy-hoppy and fruity finish. Pleasant thirst-quencher…

(bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Grassy and herbal hoppy aroma with doughy pale malt. Mildly bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Doughy pale malt character with mainly grassy and slightly herbal hoppy spots; rather dry and “hochvergoren” finish with grassy hoppy accents. Okay. 24.VI.14

500ml bottle thanks to Beerhunter111. Pours hazy yellow. Decent Helles, light taste, grassy with just a touch of lemon curd on the finish. Refreshing and drinkable but definitely had better from the region.

Like the design of their labels. Bottle (even if Nuremberg is just a few kilometers from here). Light yellow beer, durable foam, hazy. Interesting hoppy smell. Medium bitterness, aroma is little bit of grain, hops, citrus, grass. Dry finish. Easily drinkable Helles but does not stand out.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty-wheaty, modest dry. More and more grasy, some flowery-hoppy notes. Really interesting beer!

Bottle (purchased at the brewpub). Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with light notes of lemon zest and cat pee. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not as bad as the Rotbier, but still pretty flimsy/weak, bland, and lacking in character. Drinkable in a pinch, but it simply cannot compete with the plethora of decent lager in the region.

Hazy pale blond color. Nice delicate aroma of cereals and straws. Light mouthfeel, smooth, with simple but pleasant flavor o straws. Easy but drinkable.
