It has at first a very nice hop aroma, fresh herbal hop, powerful, clean. It has a respectable body, with malt flavor, maybe too sweet; then the bitterness balances it, more in the end. Very good.

Hazy light blond color. Light aroma, with some malt and hop, same for the taste, the hopping better than the malt, but balanced and very enjoyable.

Test vom 4.10.2010, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 11,10,12,12,-,12 - 11,57

Tap. Creamy barley malt flavor with light grass hops. Golden yellow color with small head. Creamy malt flavor with moderate grass hops. Nice beer - more like a German pils flavor to me.

My Bottom Line :
Bready yeast paints a rustic flavorscape for this unfiltered Helles, as herbal hops and soft, doughy cereals merge in a pillowy show of balance.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A tuft of foam tops the cloudy blond.
-Cereal flavors are pleasant. Could there be wheat in here too?
-The finish is a continuation of the flavor profile, with mild herbal hop bitterness and equally delicate cereal sugars.
-Oh, if all North American brewpubs had a house blond of this character instead of the often mailed-in colours they brew…
-This is not a top-tier Helles, but it serves its purpose very well and is as drinkable as it is flavorful.

On tap at the brewpub.

Tap at brewpub. Pours lightly hazy pale yellow with a medium-large, frothy white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is cereal and meal malt, spicy hops, and a clean lager character. Flavor is malty with light hops, medium bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.

Couple pints on tap at the brewpub. Frothy white head in a stone mug. Aroma is actually very hoppy, very leafy, citrusy, spicy woody hops, light munich malt aroma, nice and bready. Taste is quite bitter, almost IPA like, very hoppy. Palate is light bodied with smooth carbonation. Tasty.

Monoton, aber ok. Hozzá a tipikus bajor helles hozzáállást. Dicséretes. Hasonlít a Vetter Helles-éhez.

Draught at the Kulturbrauerei, Heidelberg, Germany. Hazy yellow color with a small white head. Earth, dry malt, flour and even a hint of hops in the aroma. The flavor is dry hops, dry malt, flour and mild bitterness. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
